Hey Party People!
kQ has been rocking out florals and designing events of all shapes and sizes since the first outpost opened in Park Slope circa 2000. Eventually kQ design lab found a home in a Red Hook Brooklyn taking up space in an historic warehouse on the waterfront where the production studio and office rocked one fun project after another.
It has been a blast being a part of milestones and celebrations, fundraising events and watching families grow and grow up.
It's an end of an era of sorts...
I made the leap to Alaska full time in 2017 while working remotely and traveling to wherever the events took me. Simultaneously I went back to school and finished my bachelors degree finally graduating April 2020 from Alaska Pacific University.
comma, pandemic.
October 2021 I returned to Red Hook to produce the Taste of Red Hook for RHI... an event that I have been a part of since 2012 and watched in grow in size and fundraising capacity. I am proud of Team Quade and the work we did throughout the years, this event in particular was a hallmark of our annual events calendar.
In a bittersweet moment I closed up shop last October.
It was time after 18 months of uncertainty and the offer of a 2 year contract for a full time gig as General Manager for the Mat-Su 2024 Arctic Winter Games.
March 10-16, 2024 the Arctic Winter Games will come to the Mat-Su for a week long sport and cultural exchange. Youth 12-21 will compete in 21 different sports throughout the region during the week alongside a full schedule of cultural events, workshops, and performances. Taking place every two years, nine international contingents from the circumpolar north will convene in Alaska for this international event.
I feel like my Brooklyn life, every event and experience has prepared me for this role... I ask you to join me in this journey. Follow along at on Facebook and insta. Check out www.awg2024.org for updates, volunteer opportunities and ways you can support this incredible event.
During our global hibernation I've been falling back in love with flowers and gardening. Keeping my hands in the blooms & creating bridal bouquets and occasional arrangements has been wonderfully creative.
I believe never say never and who knows what the future holds once is a wrap?!

If we have collaborated or you've enjoyed florals I've created please take a moment to leave a review on the new page as I grow a presence in Alaska.
In the meantime... this page will hibernate.
peace, love and flowers. xokQ.
