Alright, so let me tell you the reason of cutting my dreads, as everyone is wondering and asking why.

It has been 8 years that I have carried them on my head, these little babies that grew longer from year to year.

As I am a lot about radical honesty these days imma gonna tell you that these 8 years were connected to much pleasure seeking experiences, getting to the peak of the l***y, druggy, party mountain.

I feel that I have grown out of that phase, finally, well actually 3 years ago now.

So the inner change was done, the outer one came along after lots of hesitation and fear of letting go of that identity or self image.

I am glad that I respected the dreads with a ritual, giving them to the water, air, the earth and fire asking for forgiveness to all the souls I’ve hurt or mistreated and praying for mother earth to take out everything that doesn’t serve me and everything around me anymore.

I am just one person, how can I change the world? I am just one person, how can I change the world? This sentence gets repeated once and again in the opening ceremony of this gathering. I am just one person how can I change the world? After 4 times, people around are standing up, more and more and more until all were standing, showing that there is more than just one person willing to act! In the midst of a world in polycrisis, we come together, because we believe in solutions. GEN is not only the Global Ecovillage Network, but also a MOVEMENT. Experimenting with different ways of living life, to fulfill each others needs without neglecting oneself and the environment. Gratitude, honouring the pain, seeing with new eyes and moving forth were the themes of the days and they reflect the processes that the individual and collective went through.
Now you might ask yourself, that this is just one movement, how can we change the world? Let‘s ask it some more times and see what happens. One Love, One Mind, One Destiny, One Family brings the Unity. AHOI ❤️☀️🍀

Ecstatic Dance, barefoot, sober, without talking.

AND now instead of 1 specific genre, a mix of many, a mix of world music, down, mid, uptempo, funk, trance, moombathon, techno, jazz, blues, rock, pop, reggae, dnb, you name it.

That sounds amazing right? But then why was I still unsure if it is the right path for me or not, isn’t it clear? isn’t it enough? to be content, fulfilled, what more do I need? And do I do the music for me, for the family? why all of it?

All of these questions are good to ask but not to let them make you drown … there is a reason you do all of it. And especially seeing how it affects people is what makes it so precious, it feels like a service to humanity. The freedom of expression and experimentation with own triggers regarding movement can shed light on parts that haven’t been seen before, which can be healed and the wounds transcended, making the dancefloor a transformational space where the cocoon can be left to enter a new chapter, a new being, a new life.

This may sound like romanticism, but it is true!
Every form of Dance, wants you to move a certain way, which can be great, but also constricting. Whereas for Ecstatic Dance it’s the opposite, there is no given movement, you are free to move however you feel like, and that FREEDOM can be scary, it’s unknown, but if you allow your body to become a vessel of the Music you’ll most probably experience yourself as you’ve never done before.

That being said I am happy to provide this experience to my fellow brothers, sisters and bristers. Altough I am much more then it and I won’t limit myself to it, I am proud to call myself an Ecstatic Dance DJ and hope to see you soon on the dancefloor. AHOI🏴‍☠️🦁❤️‍🔥

Every year we celebrate Earth Day. I wonder if she notices. A brief respite in her gasping for air, a slight soothing of the scratching on her skin. Have we gone past the point of no return?

To her it’s but a blink of an eye. She views epochs as we do seasons. She knows the true meaning of balance, watching fools push the pendulum to its limit. I stand in awe before her magnificent magnitude. She knows all, sees all.

I put my ear to her skin and listen, hoping to hear her secret and ancient wisdom. From the depths I hear a long and deep growl. Something is coming. We all know it. We can all feel it. Happy Earth Day 🌎
