Question: Why don't you reflex your roses for deliveries? They look so much better!
Answer: Because they don't last nearly as long!
Exhibit A: 7 day old roses. Left was reflexed on day 4, right hasn't been touched
They were both processed the same way, in the same vase, same water, same conditions.
I could write a whole bunch about how they damage the blooms, or events vs deliveries requirements, or client expectations vs reality (never lines up lol)
But the fact is, flowers don't last, and by doing this, it shortens their lifespan even further
I want to provide the best quality, so that's what I do.
Let them bloom naturally and be amazed!
Events on the other hand, the flowers are being design for major impact, not longevity
Ps. Flower shop is currently closed but will be open again for special dates throughout the year

Saturday evening, 20 of our closest friends and 13 kiddos joined us for an awesome evening!
Wine was flowing, homemade pizzas, pastas & paella were devoured, music was danced to, and kids were free to be kids

Hi! It's been a while since I've introduced myself, and we have so many new faces! Hi!
I'm Jasmine, Jaz, Jazzy, whatever tickles your fancy.
I'm 32, originally from Port Macquarie, and now find the Maitland area home.
I have two tornadoes, children, who I absolutely adore. They are affectionately known here as Flowerbabe & Blossombabe, and are regular helpers behind the scenes and sometimes front and centre.
My eldest is the reason why I'm even here. I refused to go back to retail after having him and studying hadn't been the right fit for me at the time.
So As Sweet As Jasmine started as a "F*ck it" moment during "maternity leave". And here we are 7 &1/2 years later!
I have a wonderful husband who is so kind and loving and supportive. He is our worst paid employee lol
I love all things creative and run an art business alongside my floristry @artistry.by.jasmine
I don't like being told what to do, particularly to "niche down". I want to do it all because I enjoy it!
Also why I like to work for myself 🙈
I still cry watching ceremonies
I sing along to everything and have a very eclectic taste in music.
I love all foods, particularly tacos & paella
In another life, I would have been a marine biologist or nature documentarian. I did work placement at Sydney Taronga Zoo and a marine science trip, and they were some of my most favourite experiences.
I'm still figuring out who I want to be when I grow up but I'm enjoying the process

Want your bouquet to look it's best for your wedding day?
I've got some handy hints for you to save for later
🌸 Keep in water for as long as possible before the ceremony. When your photographer takes photos, have someone on duty to babysit your bouquets. Get it back into water ASAP
🌸 ask your florist to add extra vases to your invoice to place the bouquets back into after your portraits/during reception
Ps. Don't bank on them being focal flowers for styling for reception. Despite all best efforts, there will be some damage/wilting because they are flowers, they will have been out of water, it just what happens naturally
🌸 if it's windy and/or hot, minimise being outside. The flowers feel the heat even more than we do, so if you're uncomfortable, they likely are too
Wind is a florist worst nightmare. It wreaks havoc on designs, styling, etc and also dehydrates the blooms
🌸 don't throw it around like a football. Might seem obvious but if you want your bouquet to be 🤌 treat it kindly
If you don't care what it looks like after the ceremony/portraits, go for it! Have fun! Be silly! But you can't have your cake and eat it too
🌸 when your bouquets are delivered, make sure there is a safe space that is out of the way, ideally air-conditioned, for them to sit while you get ready
The less they are away from heat, light and wind, the better they will be

The most asked question was what type of designs work best for repurposing
THIS! The ~Love Nest~ a ground installation in a wide semi-circle design.
Why?
•Because these are made in multiple vessels
•Because these are made in the same orientation as what they will be viewed in for both ceremony and reception
•Because this will give you multiple options around your reception space
So how to move your Ceremony Flowers to your reception?
PLAN AHEAD
🌸Choosing designs that are easily picked up and movable
🌸Choosing designs that will be viewed from the same point of view.
🌸The distance between spaces and timing need to be considered
🌸 Use as 'bonus flowers' as they will be out in the elements and moved around, so won't be in the prime. Putting on tables is not an option for multiple reasons. But highlight features that otherwise would go softly undernoticed is the best way to go!
