We bought a manual to help us with our social media posts. It recommends we cycle through 12 different types of posts so that you get to know about us and our 'journey', what we offer here and then (the magic sales bit) what we can do for you!
But we're stuck on the first post - it's supposed to be all about us. The samples all refer to a spiritual journey, struggle or awakening that led us to find our true calling ... it's really not our style. Here's our best attempt. What do you think?
So personally, we're burnt out by watching wellness coaches and 'experts' carrying on about healing, past traumas, the latest trend in water (it's hydrogenised btw), and how to achieve inner peace. Social media feeds are full of this stuff and it seems so ... *inner struggle for appropriate words* ... self-absorbed??
That's why we created this place - so YOU can try different things backed by quality research and find out what makes YOU feel good. It might be that a nice weekend away is all you needed, it could be stepping out into nature, the red light therapy, the floatation tank, the saunas, the animals, the great company, the Yoga & Pilates classes (with styles to suit different abilities & physical needs) or the good food ...
Because it's all about you and what you feel like doing. Every minute of your time here. We're just here to keep things running smoothly, not to tell you what to do.
If that sounds like something you might like, be sure to check out https://littlefarmofcalm.com for all our upcoming retreat dates and info.
But if you are still reading and really want to know what makes us tick, it's helping others. Helping the people who come on retreat with us, find what they need. Which supports our other expensive habit - helping Australian Wildlife. Because they need all the help they can get!
Whew. How did we go?
Floatation Therapy - High in magnesium salts which not only absorbs into your skin, but creates a sense of weightlessness (like floating in the dead sea!). The water is pleasantly warm, the room is warm and you can choose whether to close the lid to be in total darkness as you float.
Good morning! How fantastic is Benalla's morning sunshine? Let's show you #Boscostyle
PS. Yes, this little guy has been ramping up his Mr Personality lately. For a joey we used to call sloth boy, he's really come out of his shell (pouch?).
Stop waiting for the silly humans to give you what you want, sometimes you just have to go get it for yourself ...
A Yoga & Wellness Retreat like no other. Come see what all the fuss is about! 🙏 littlefarmofcalm.com
Just another morning of controlled mayhem at Little Farm of Calm. As we wind down from another amazing weekend retreat full of people, stories, yoga, pilates and wellness.
Care to join us? https://littlefarmofcalm.com
We've got retreats running over both the Labour Day and Easter Weekends (4 Day retreats are extra special) plus dates are now up for all our retreats through to the end of May with June dates to follow real soon ...
T'was the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring except for .... 16 goats, 2 pigs, 2 guinea fowl and a sheep called Rosie.
We finally picked up our Maldon Kangaroo Art (thanks to Daz... just a lazy 7 hours in the car). This isn't our final display location, nor can you see them to their best effect, but they still look pretty damn beautiful.
Thanks to the amazing artists Eliza Tree, Julia Pavey and the students of Maldon Primary School for our beautiful family of roos. Further thanks to the amazing Felicity Howard for her administrative talents and fundraising efforts in this project to raise money for the purchase of an ultrasound machine for Red Box Wildlife Shelter (who also deserve a round of applause for the support and fantastic they do with both the roos, and us shelters).
Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all. We hope to see more of you (and see some of you again in the new year) Little Farm of Calm 🫶🦘🙏🐐🐑🧘♀️💛🧡❤️
3rd time lucky - a displaced wombat roaming the streets of Benalla (including at 1:30am in Debbie's back yard last night - thanks Debbie!). This morning he conveniently re-appeared and allowed himself to be ushered into the Rose City Vets carpark where we were able to to park his magnificent backside in a rubbish bin 😎
Whether he was looking for love in all the wrong places, chased by a dog or just out to explore, we will never know what bought him to the centre of town. The important part is that he appeared to be in good health (if a little tired from his escapades) and has been released not too far away, but out of the suburban thick of it. We can only hope he makes his way back to his territory to live a long and happy life.
Thanks to Daz for the video, Shirley, and the team at Rose City Vets for all their assistance. It's not quite Steve Irwin excitement, but this is how it is done folks! Wildlife Victoria #wildliferescue

So as per our last blog post, things are pretty full on at the moment ... so what did we *really* need to make things easier?
A possum with a life threatening condition arriving after all the vets closed on Friday (or I'm assuming that's what you thought would help?!). Many grey hairs and wisdom gained, with some healthy reminders on asking for help when you need it. Plus, huge shout out to my amazing Vet Jade (I can't seem to tag her!).
So no - some very important things did not get done. But yes, I think we saved a life worth saving. What do you think?
It may surprise you 😲 but marketing is not really our bag baby.
To quote Gollum from Lord of the rings "We hates it".
So to spread the load, I have been nagging Daz to do more on Instagram since he's the only one with access (don't ask - we can't get the accounts linked no matter what we do).
He hadn't said anything. So t'was a surprise to spot this yesterday ... You gotta watch with sound to truly appreciate the 'tone'.
Should I tell him to quit his day job and follow his natural talent for satire and voice overs? If I do, there is a job going here that involves carrying heavy objects, kangaroo wrangling, impromptu site maintenance tasks (all involving gaffer tape) and being bossed around regularly by me and 2 young children. Pay is a bit sh*t and hours are ridiculously long.
Perhaps we'd better not tell him. ☺🦘🫶.
