I became familiar with DJ Duckie’s style at his monthly “80’s Music Madness” night at El Norte Lounge in Lake City. When the time came to pick a DJ for my 80’s themed 30th birthday party he was hands down my first choice. My favorite thing about the whole experience was how flexible he was with special requests both prior to, and during the event. He brought all of his own (very nice) equipment and was very self-sufficient. With all of the chaos there was leading up to the start of the party I really appreciated not having to worry about his end of things. The theme of the party was specifically 1985 and he did a great job of balancing music from that year with music from the rest of the decade. He connected personally with my guests and made sure everybody had a great time on the dance floor. We used DJ Duckie for our wedding reception and we couldn’t be any more pleased. He has great sounding equipment and a massive music selection to keep everyone entertained. He even has some wireless mics that we used to sing along with. Also, his light bar system made for a great dancing area. Choosing Jeff Nelson as the DJ for any special event that you are planning would be a very wise choice. He was our choice for our 50th wedding anniversary celebration and we were very pleased with him and his efforts. After determining what music we preferred he chose music that was very fitting for the occasion and for our likes. At the request of our event planner he even put together a pictorial video of our lives up to that point. As a special request to us he sang a song that was sung at our wedding reception back in 1965. He has a vast knowledge of all music genres and brings all of his own equipment. He is easy to work with and is very professional, courteous and well organized. His wireless microphones made it easy for us to hear those people who were chosen to pay tribute to us that this event. I planned to celebrate living in the United States for Twenty Years with a party. I wanted a low-key fun venue where people could come and have a fun evening chatting, dancing, and having a good time. Most important to me was to get the music choice just right. Dj Duckie was an obvious choice because he plays a great mix of catchy danceable music from the 80s that I knew would get my friends and family up and dancing. We talked about the play list ahead of time and even had a Facebook chat session proposing songs and debating what would likely get people up and dancing. Even getting the play list together was lots of fun. Any music he didn't have in his collection he went and found in time for the party. One the night the music just kept flowing and once people got up to dance they stayed on the dancefloor until the venue closed at 2am. Everyone raved about how good the music was and how much they enjoyed the party. He threw in a few surprises we weren't expecting and there were some "Oh Wow!" moments! I was happy to see my friends and family singing, dancing, and having a good time. I highly recommend DJ Duckie for your party! Steve May

My brother had a party in Seattle last December, celebrating 20 years of living in America, so I visited from England. We decorated the venue with red, white and blue balloons, laid out food and drink etc. The party began to warm up as people arrived and then DJ Duckie arrived, he wore a long black coat and looked extremely cool! He mingled with us, had some food and then got to work. What happened next was pure magic - put it this way, I danced for the next 6 hours, straight! The party was a huge success, most people danced at some point and some danced most of the night. DJ Duckie played all our requests and even danced with us at times, which was brilliant - it just went to show how much he loved the music he was playing, and how he totally throws himself into the event! He sings to almost every song and is a vibrant, approachable, friendly and entertaining DJ that makes a gathering a party! We danced until the early hours and I personally feel that I made a new friend that night. I returned in February and danced another 5 hours straight, DJ Duckie remembered my requests from the party in December and played them without me even asking! He brought all the necessary equipment and got set up quickly. DJ Duckie was our DJ for our wedding and I must say he did an excellent job!! Our wedding was very diverse and he took the liberty of creating a playlist for us that ranged from hip hop to country, from Latin to even Indian music! He was able to download music on the spot for the guests who had special requests! Mr. Duckie came extremely prepared for our wedding with extra speakers (that we needed for the ceremony) and his own equipment. I highly recommend DJ Duckie for any type of event!
