Maine Mavericks, Inc Maine Mavericks is a local horse club. Located at 2923 Rt 11 Whitney Point NY 13862 BC Fairgrounds Family oriented fun place to show and grow!

Shows are held at the Broome County Fairgrounds in Whitney Point, NY. We hold four performance club shows a year with halter, english and western classes. We also hold four gymkanna shows for all you speed enthusiasts, our added money classes will give you a chance to run for the money. Our season wraps up with two open silver shows, where you can compete for class prizes and day end awards. Our a

We will go with 3 pointed club shows for our 2024 Performance Show season.

We will figure in the Triple Challenge also so no worries! ❤️

We want to give a huge shout out to our amazing announcer this past weekend for our speed show!

Anne Lee and her daughter Paige stepped in too❤️

Absolutely enjoyed you being up there and announcing! You did a wonderful job!

An announcer really sets the entire tone for the whole show. Keeps things running and flowing smooth. Encourages. Keeps a positive spin on everything. The announcer represents Maine Mavericks and uses kind, respectful, effective communication!
And lastly …..makes it FUN!!!

Despite having to get 16 new tines for our drag that has not been working effectively at all and now battery not working on tractor, we still have amazing grounds crew that work hard to get this arena in tip top shape for our members! Thank you to the Fair Board for all your help also!! It takes a village!
Every problem we have faced this season with our equipment has been met with determination, team effort and great communication….and a wee bit of frustration 🤪 but over all solutions are made and we are able to move on!

Excited to have a great show weekend coming up!!

If you didn’t know we have meeting minutes that go on our website so if you ever want to know what gets voted on or discussed at our meetings or can’t make it to them, you can click the link on website and see our whole year of information!!

✅We have had much debate on TANK TOPS and what that actually means. Since there are SO many levels and variations of tanks, collars, sleeves and all the ones in between :

✅We VOTED that NO TANK TOPS ARE ALLOWED WHEN YOU ARE RIDING IN MAINE MAVERICKS ARENA. During Expos, warm ups and showing.

✅TSHIRTS AND WESTERN SHIRTS ONLY PLEASE (long or short sleeve depending on the dress code for the show)

The 4-H Performance Show was amazing! It might have been small but these ladies are BIG in pride and determination! They did some hard things and did them well!!

We had a great time representing Maine Mavericks this year in the opening BC Fair Parade! Gabriella and I held flags and walked with the parade! It was a hot one but we had fun❤️
The floats were amazing and the old time tractors were a hit! 4-H kids and all their animals were a crowd pleaser and I loved seeing them all and their smiles!!
Thanks Judy Whittaker for putting this together and organizing it!
We will most definitely be planning for next year and hopefully can have some horses and the
big ol American flag flown also!! 🇺🇸 maybe even a float also! ❤️

For all the new members who might not know..Maine Mavericks history time!!

YES Maine Mavericks gives out scholarships of $500 each, every year to lucky members who apply ❤️📝

It’s named after and in honor of Dee Y Moore.

A high school senior who has been with the club 3 or more years and in good standing, can apply for this scholarship.

The club was founded in 1965 in his kitchen in Maine, NY. He was our "First " first foreman. He was known as the gentleman cowboy as he always rode with a dress shirt and tie. He was also known for his kindness to his horses. He often dismounted after a run and sprinted for the gate and his horse would follow him out without being led. He was very tall, 6 foot 4 1/2 and very lean. But he liked shorter horses, sometimes his foot would dig the ground as he ran a barrel. He rode Nationally in the Pinto & Paint arenas and at age 77 competing in Tulsa, OK he was honored at the National Show and was made an Honorary Okie and given the Key to the City if Tulsa. In the photos Red Overo is Bear Up, bay Paint is Painted Sullivan.

I have had the honor of sitting with Dianne and hearing so many amazing stories about this man and what a true, honorary horsemen and example he was for all Maine Maverick’s members !! Truly blessed !❤️

We just had our meeting and we were able to reschedule the rest of the show season.

Rescheduling did change other dates as well.

We were able to still have judge Kennis Fairfax❤️(only available Oct 20th)

Those 2 weekends we had already booked and so we are trying to utilize the weekends we had available to us. Several factors go into rescheduling for us that are out of our hands also. Thank you for your support!

We had our first meeting of the 2023 Show season ! It went amazing and we had so many awesome ideas and loads of work was done! We will be meeting with the fair board this week and will have show dates soon! 📝❤️📝 Our minutes 📝 from the meeting will be posted to the website soon, if you’d like to know what cool things we are up to this year and want to get involved!! We will need 🙌ALL HANDS ON DECK🙌this year to create some fun new events for the club! Theme/Goal To create a unified, connected club with members and board members by using clear, effective, kind communication. This creates a great atmosphere to show and have fun with our horse show community ❤️🐴❤️
