Maine Mavericks, Inc Maine Mavericks is a local horse club. Located at 2923 Rt 11 Whitney Point NY 13862 BC Fairgrounds Family oriented fun place to show and grow!

Shows are held at the Broome County Fairgrounds in Whitney Point, NY. We hold four performance club shows a year with halter, english and western classes. We also hold four gymkanna shows for all you speed enthusiasts, our added money classes will give you a chance to run for the money. Our season wraps up with two open silver shows, where you can compete for class prizes and day end awards. Our a

Well it’s January!! ❤️👏🏼❤️

We will have our first meeting of the new year next week and then we will have a meeting with the fair board to go over our show dates for Show Season 2025!

Our website will be updated soon and our membership form will be updated also as info on there has changed.

We are excited to get our show season planning under way and are excited to see warmer days and loads of smiles!

This years recipient of the Bill McGowan Award goes to Lacey Barton !

Funny story:
We had already decided to give this award to Lacey as a board……when she approached David to give it to me (Lexy). So David and crew, had to lie and scheme to make sure it stayed a secret to Lacey…all the while we had planned to give it to her. SURPRISE!!! Her kids came up to be able to hand her this special award.

Congratulations Lacey! We love you! ❤️

Marathon Civic Association: Thank you for the use of the space it was absolutely perfect for us!

Thank you David Stowell for jumping in to spin some tunes for us! It was amazing!

Introducing Aubrie Piester who is running for a position on the board for next year! She will be on the ballot! ❤️

My name is Aubrie Piester. I have been with Maine Mavericks for 3 years watching my daughter Gabby grow in both her confidence and riding skill, with her noble steed Alero. As a show mom, I know first hand the hard work that goes into prepping for show day. That’s why I would love to be a part of the Maine Mavericks board. I enjoy lending a hand where I can and supporting other competitors to have the best show day. We love to compete, but we love to have fun too! What’s a show day without a little laughter? I still have so much to learn but I am eager to take on this commitment and support this amazing local club.

Elections are coming up!! 🗳️

At the banquet we have our short meeting and do our election. If you’d like to be added to the ballot please let us know and we can add you!! Or you can be. Nominated at the banquet and we can add you then also.

Everyone will get a ballot who is eligible to vote!

All Positions available and who is running(others can also run for these positions too )

First Foremen : Alexis Ayers is running again
Second Foremen: Lacey Barton is running again
Third Foremen : David McGowan is running again
Recording Secretary : Whitney Hilbler running
Show Sec: Teresa Shattuck running
Treasury: Kristin Haas running
1 yr director : Kristina Decker
1 yr director: Nicole Buckley
1 yr Director : Jodi Brayman running

We have also the 3-2 yr Director positions open also with no one running at this time.

We would like to see a balanced Gymkhana and Performance board so we can maintain knowledge and support for both equally!

Of course the BANQUET Nov 23 6pm
$5 a person (not to exceed $20/family)
Marathon Civic Association
✨Cowgirl Couture Theme so dress your best…get all dolled up …and come have a fun night of awards dinner and dancing!! ✨

We will have a table set up when you come in and you can pay , grab a ticket to win the door prizes, sign up membership for next year if you want and buy some raffle tickets!! We will be raffling off a really nice igloo cooler that the NBHA donated to us!! This money will go towards a new PA Sound System for next year! 🎶 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶

We will have dinner and then our elections/meeting. While we do the meeting….we will have all children go into the other FUN ROOM with crafts, activities and teens to occupy them ❤️

After elections we will do the handing out all of the awesome awards you worked so hard for!!

We will have a dance floor and can dance the night away and have some fun!!

So excited to see everyone and enjoy the end of the season with you all ❤️

If you’d like to run for a position please let us know! You can send a pic and bio to me and I can post and share to our members before hand or just let me know if you’d like to run. Also can wait until the meeting at the banquet and be elected there too !

All positions are always up for grabs!

We would like to have a balanced board ..Performance and Gymkhana being represented and also male/female balance too.

Yes….this is a commitment for sure. But the rewards are HIGH!!
