As with any form of art, it’s better to understand why something works than it is to follow a set of rules with the blind hope that you’ll get the shot you want.
With black and white photography, the name of the game is contrast. You want deep blacks and ultra-whites to stand out against each other within the image. At the same time, however, you don’t want to create such a stark contrast that you end up with a flat image – or maybe you do.
Black and white portraits, specifically, bring in another element to style. A black and white photograph is all about capturing mood and emotion with the image. When you are deciding what style of lighting to use, keep in mind what mood you wish to convey.

Welcome to Playas Del Coco 🥥 🌴✨
Daytime at Playas del Coco is laid back, with plenty of activites to please any traveler, from thrill-seekers to families.
Due to the area’s popularity, roads have been built in the village so you can easily access the markets, shops, casinos and restaurants.
If you prefer to spend your day by the beach, you’re in for some fun. The views are gorgeous, as this tropical beach is surrounded by hills.
You can also head to a few close-by islands and national parks where you can spot sharks while scuba diving or you may run into huge marine turtles nesting on the beach.
If you are looking for activities off of the beach, you can find a tour operator that will offer horseback riding, surfing, sport fishing, scuba diving, hiking, snorkeling or even just simple bird-watching.

An update on the project.
will be apart of the Flamingo Marina program, where their healthcare facility will be able to provide specialized medical and nursing care, as well as medical supplies to patients. There will also be an emergency department to handle urgent health issues such as fire and accident victims, as well as medical emergencies.

Once you begin shooting portraits, you’re driven to keep experimenting with different styles and ideas. It’s a challenge, because no two people are alike.
Portrait styles have become extremely diverse and a lot of the old school rules no longer apply. Getting up close and personal with your subjects carries over into many other types of photography and social situations. People feel comfortable in your presence.
You become a motivator, their confidant, and advocate.
It’s a great feeling when it all works. 😇

Color can most certainly speak to emotion. However, taking away color can allow other emotional elements (such as facial expression, body language, etc.) to really shine.
By stripping away all the color information, you can hone in on the story of the image. We feel the emotion the artist is trying to project, rather than just viewing it.

Where do I begin with Frankie, Steph and the whole Gracia family…it’s hard to say when you have so many good things to say about them and so little time to write a good caption 😜
I’ll start off by saying that not only are Frankie and Steph phenomenal at what they do…they are also absolutely amazing people. You can feel that as soon as you meet them. You can tell that they love what they do, and as you all know, that’s one of the most important things of all. Especially when it comes to cuisine.
You want your first bite to remind you of something, someone or somewhere. You want that first bite to make you feel good, and put a big smile on your face, while you nod in excitement and go mmmmmmmm 🤤
As for Gracia restaurant, the location, atmosphere, cocktails and food are incredible. We are really lucky to have such a wonderful place to go hang out, go for a drink (or 3😜), enjoy the beautiful infinity pool overlooking the ocean, and incredibly delicious menu they have for lunch and dinner.
Proud to call them friends and we all know that the community loves you! ❤️
To quote the great Anthony Bourdain "I think food, culture, people and landscape are all absolutely inseparable."
