Stressful yet successful 1st, and definitely last, Surfin' Sunday show as "Audio Engineer" in the books for me! This weekend was long, exhausting, and I'm very dehydrate/sunburnt after almost 12 hours in the sun. Did I mention I hate sand? 😎

A few tips for anyone hiring an event vendor (DJ/band/caterer/etc)! As a vendor we know you are tired at the end of your event, but shutdown will take time so plan accordingly when deciding on your end time! This is especially important when requesting additional time on the spot at the event! Yes while shutdown is faster then setup its not magic (no not even if the vendor is a magician!) Keep in mind your vendors are also tired and that there was significant time and effort involved in setup! We want to wrap things up as efficiently and quick as possible but not by risking damage to our equipment! On that note, when drinking is involved they may decline additional "helpers" to protect the investments they've made in their equipment so please don't be offended if they decline help!
