Reunited with.. The Emmy Gown (plus detachable bow).

We actually released the Emmy early last year but then got so busy with orders and bespoke commissions we weren’t able to release any more styles.

The most classic design in our stable, the Emmy gown features an unfussy silhouette with a modern square neckline (criminally underused in bridal IOO) with an oh so prettily shaped open back.

She’s great on her own, but pair her with our stunning detachable bow (which simply attaches to a belt) and you’re onto a winner.

It’s worth bearing in mind that we can make this bow in any fabric to match any dress. Now there’s a tempting thought..

The first sample from our latest collection, The Martha, was created earlier in the year and has already caused a stir.

Visitors to the studio were so taken with the incredible weight, sheen and shade of this silk satin that we made it a staple of the collection.

The sleeves have an intricate internal structure which elevates them to a high drama status. The vertical seams of the bodice are also a hugely popular feature. Not only do they look stunning, the bandeau element gives support to the bust so even those who assumed going braless was not an option are thrilled to be able to wear this style and have their back on show.

The Florence Set has been storming it in fittings recently.

This separates style features a corseted top which is crying out to be worn again after the big day. The chic column skirt has a detachable train so going from aisle drama to practical dance mode has never been more straight forward. We also love the sprinkled dots fabric which is heavier than silk satin but still drapes and has a really lovely texture.

Happy Mother’s Day to my mum and me. Edie made me no fewer than three cards to mark the occasion but also wanted to join in being a mummy so dressed up as me. My own mum continues to excel in her roles of both mum and grandmuz and I’m very grateful ❤️

THE ADA

Gorgeous Hannah in her customised Ada dress. Hannah went for a slightly different silhouette through the skirt (no insert train as in the original) and kept is really clean by leaving off the trim.

We love that we’re able to offer these changes because everything is made in-house by us from scratch. It’s your wedding dress after all- you shouldn’t have to compromise on a single detail.

The Martha! Our new style (so new we haven’t shot it yet) is really making waves. You guys love the bodice which is flattering to any bust and removes the need for a bra. We just sold this dress to a client with a large bust who was stunned and thrilled that she can go braless and have her back on show- something she felt would not be open to her with her proportions. The sleeves have an intricate internal design which makes them super puffy and slightly raised, adding height and drama. Low, squares backs are so chic and modern. They’re becoming a bit of a Blake Ida staple because our clients can’t seem to get enough of them. This one is no exception. All our dresses are customisable and for a £30 surcharge you can choose a different silk but once people lay eyes on this luscious heavyweight satin they really fall in love. It is the most incredible shade of super light gold which is probably the most flattering we have ever used.
