Time to do your happy dance! Julebyen 2023 was an incredible success. What a way to kick off the holiday season. The planning team would like to thank the 100s of volunteers who contributed to that success. It takes a village … a village of bakers, crafters, planners, safety crews, grounds crews, performers, and clean up. THE 10TH ANNUAL JULEBYEN starts Saturday morning at 9:00am. There is no admission charge. Free parking is available on city streets and lots around town. Handicapped parking is available in cordoned off areas around the Julebyen Festival Grounds. Service animals only please. No ATM on site. Troll Canyon Train tickets are available for purchase at the Knife River Train Depot prior to departure. For further information check out the Julebyen website: https://julebyen.org/

• The Blackwoods (Haulin' Hotdish) food truck adjacent to the Julebyen Festival Grounds, serving up Minnesota classics like the traditional Tater Tot Hotdish alongside a few takes of their ‘modern version,’.
• The Larsmont Trading Post (on the Julebyen Grounds) famous for their VIKING SMORREBROD featuring KALOPS (a Swedish beef stew) and NORWEGIAN MAC & CHEESE, along with all the trimmings.
• Minnesota Marshmallow (in Troll Village) with marshmallo treats from classic flavors like Peppermint Bon Bon to their widely famous Bigfoot Bites!

SHOPPING GALORE! The Julebyen Christmas Village features all sorts of vendors around the large Gnome Dome tent. Here you will find individual vendor booths decorated for the season. Explore the Julebyen grounds to find unique hand-made gifts by local artisans. There is also a large Indoor Market (headquartered in the Rec Center building with a wonderland of creative holiday treasures. In addition, you can venture into the Gnome Dome Tent for the Scandinavian Bakeri, indoor performances and children's workshops. Over at Troll Village (near the Knife River Train Depot) the Two Harbors Farmer's Market has more vendors of all kinds. There is something for everyone and lots to explore! TAKE THE TROLL CANYON TRAIN in search of mischievous trolls reportedly seen in the area. 45-minute round trips board from the Knife River Depot Saturday at 11am, 12pm and 1:00pm and Sunday at 11am and 12pm. TAKE THE TRAIN RT FROM DULUTH: Ride the Julebyen Express train from the Duluth Depot to Knife River's Julebyen and back, on Saturday or Sunday! Through the generous support of the North Shore Scenic Railroad. ROUND TRIP TICKETS adults $20, ages 3-13 $10, under 3 FREE. Purchase Tickets online or at the station prior to boarding. SATURDAY SCHEDULE: The Julebyen Express departs the Duluth Depot at 9:30am. The train boards at 2:00pm in Knife River for the return trip back to the Duluth Depot by around 3:00pm.

FEATURED PERFORMER: JOHN AGAKI. Singer, instrumentalist, song writer John Agaki will be performing on the Gnome Dome Indoor Stage from 1:00-2:00pm on Saturday December 2. FEATURED PERFORMER: THUG (Two Harbors Ukelele Group): If you have not seen the THUG perform you are in for a treat. They will be on stage in the Gnome Dome tent on Sunday Dec. 3 from 12:00 until 2:00pm. They are a fun and exciting group of ukelele enthusiasts who play, sing (and sometimes dance) to beat the band. Is an energetic musical commedian who will wander the Julebyen grounds finding opportunities to amaze, amuse and otherwise interrupt your day with laughter and song. There are few instruments he does not play and he loves playing as many as he can at the same time. Look for him on Saturday 9-noon and Sunday 10-3. He could be anywhere.
