The support and encouragement that you have offered me towards the publishing of my latest book, “Liber Affectum” has truly touched my heart!!

I am SO grateful for every like, every kind word, every action that you have taken in support of this endeavour.

Right from the start, the purpose of “All We Think, We Create” was to find new angles on feelings and emotions…

Liber Affectum is really quite unlike anything I have had a hand in creating before.

I am the curator rather than the creator of these words!

The words belong to others who have kindly shared their deepest reflections with me…

And so generously offered to share them now with you.

There were mountains of doubt to overcome!

With nothing similar to compare it against, I have found it hard to describe.

But little by little, with your help and your support, I am finding a way.

A way to continue to share this collective and beautiful expression of human feelings with more and more people…

People in need of the comfort and the companionship that these words offer.

❤️💔❤️‍🩹 EMOTIONS!!!! Am I right?

Do you feel like you’re endlessly trying to figure out what those feelings you have inside, actually mean?

Like you sort of understand what your inner self is trying to tell you…

I’m sad, this hurts… why am I…

But it just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, leaving you frustrated and deflated?

Like those times when you’re feeling sad and you just can’t explain why?

Or you can’t shake a feeling of despair even whilst the sun is shining?

Perhaps you just want to feel more confident in yourself and you can’t understand why it’s not happening?

These and so many other conflicting emotional states affect us all!

So we have choices!

We can continue to listen to our inner voice, holding on to that cyclic monologue that is never questioned or challenged…

Or we can externalise and verbalise that inner voice…

To add and subtract from what we think we know…

Ever refining an appreciation of what we ACTUALLY feel!

The revelations on the end of this process can be absolutely liberating!

And it begins with a simple exchange between two people, in a safe and nurturing space.

YOUR space, your feelings, your healing!

I am offering “Reflective Self Perception” sessions on a pay as you feel basis…

😯🌈 To be born again…

Or to be made “ANEW”…

What does it mean to you to start “ANEW”?

This is one of the 500+ feelings words shared with me by generous souls the world over…

In pursuit of channelling an understanding born of the collective consciousness…

And it’s a somewhat challenging word to be honest!

I believe that something can only be made anew, if it has already existed.

The same is true for us and our personal growth!

So even in the wake of something which appears new, there are the vestiges of something much older…

Almost as if to say that when we are made anew, we are reconfigured, rather than reborn.

Just like how energy does not dissipate, it merely changes form!

It’s a beautiful thought really…

The sense that everything that happens in our lives actually DOES matter…

Because it informs a sense of who we are to become.

🤗 To truly live freely is to accept the full range of our emotions…

How are you feeling today?

Happy? Sad? Caring? Angry? Satisfied? Frustrated?

Or should I have actually said, how are you predominantly feeling today?

Because dig around a little in there and I think you’ll discover some bread crumb trails leading to all sorts of different emotions…

Even if sometimes they’re so incredibly hard to feel at times.

So let’s consider one of the harshest of all emotions, ANGER!

We all get angry, for different reasons.

Anger is largely manifested by the presentation of a situation or experience which goes against our code, beliefs or values.

To loosely paraphrase some of what Carl Jung had to say about emotions…

Anger lives inside us!

So to acknowledge it authentically and fully, is to hold dominance over it.

Feel the anger, but perhaps don’t act on or with the anger.

If it is unavoidable, then choose to pick it up and carry it out of the way.

Through healthily processing anger through acceptance…

The bite of the poison in our systems from the dysregulation in our experience, slowly seeps out.

Without the poison, anger has no control and is simply just another emotion to be experienced and reflected on.

My highest level of gratitude to the kind souls that contributed to the creation of this Meditation…

❤️‍🩹 Emotions - the one and the other!

😆 Allow me a moment to just laugh at how inestimably complicated compressing these concepts into a 90 second reel was…

OK, now let’s go a little deeper!

Free flowing and stuck, content and depressed, confident and anxious…

All polar opposites of our human experience!

I got to wondering last week why we experience what I refer to as “the veil of funk”…

A feeling where everything in your life is seemingly OK, there are no bumps that you can detect as bringing you down in any kind of way…

And yet you have a sinking feeling that things are getting progressively worse for you…

Almost as if you have a shroud around you blocking out any sense of meaning from coming through to aid you…

You’re all alone in this downward spiral of negative emotional experience!

Well I then came across this “abridged” (to fit into 90 seconds) passage from Carl Jung where he explains, I believe, absolutely beautifully, what it means to live with these two states of being…

“the one, and the other”.

And how they co-exist within us, and therefore must be acknowledged…

Otherwise we feed one at the expense of frustrating the other.

Give too much to our contentment and we only worsen the “veil of funk”.

Give too much attention to that “veil of funk” and we starve our contentment!

There is so much to be taken from his words so I’ll leave it with you…

And perhaps you need to listen to his words a few times to start to digest some of the contents here…

Because it is absolutely thick with meaning and self understanding.

💚💪💚 Are you Ambitious?

And more importantly, how do you feel about being ambitious?

Is being ambitious a good thing in your experience…

Or a negative thing? …

Or possibly even a bit of both?

My self discovery when I reflected on this word again was this…

Yes absolutely I love being ambitious, that sense of adventure, discovery, self growth, learning, success…

But also the flip side of needing to address the feelings of doubt that come alongside being ambitious…

Failure, imposter syndrome and anxiety, to name just a few!

So how does this word TRULY manifest in our hearts and in our minds?

How can we sum up our feelings towards the word “ambitious” in just one single word in order to simplify our understanding for others?

I’m going to kickstart this one with my own word contribution…

“FAITH”

Sympathy, Empathy or Understanding? 💚

Here’s a thought…

We normally share something personal with someone else when we’re looking for a reaction of some sort…

But as the responder, how on earth are we supposed to know exactly what kind of reaction the other person is looking for?

We’re generally not very good at giving people cues or suggesting what it is that we actually want from them…

Instead relying on them to get it right!

Isn’t that odd!

But I digress! …

So when someone shares a personal difficulty with you…

Do you respond with Sympathy?

“yes, me too”

With Empathy?

“that must be awful for you?”

Or with Understanding?

Repeating back or paraphrasing what they’ve told you…

To validate that you have heard what they just said?

Or something else entirely?

Because even silence is a perfectly valid response too!

Which do you normally gravitate to?

And can you think why?

😯 When were you last AMAZED?

Because when I dug this word out earlier, I was struck by the fact that at first, I thought it meant something huge, something rare, something incredible…

And then I began to realise that our world is full of a myriad of tiny amazing moments and experiences…

The word AMAZED became representative of something both big and small…

Infrequent and commonplace!

A real duality of states that forced me to question the very meaning of what being AMAZED actually is!

So I ask you, what does it take to be AMAZED?

And how do you truly qualify whether something is AMAZING?

🫢 Hearing those little white lies in your head?

Often our brains take short cuts to enable us to process more information, more quickly…

But this can often manifest in self limiting belief…

As our brains rush to explain something to our emotional centre, that we don’t fully understand!

An example is over simplification of facts so that the facts no longer hold any power in the mental equation…

Like my example here where I honestly thought this was the truth…

“I hate driving in cities”.

Driving + City = Anxiety!

A truth I had lived with for years!

Because of the anxiety I would feel as I drove closer and closer to one!

But when you break it down, when you re-examine what is REALLY happening…

It’s NOT driving in the city that was causing the anxiety…

It’s all the ADDITIONAL unfiltered information hitting my already very noisy brain!

Once empowered with that understanding, the anxiety goes away as I actively dismiss all the irrelevant information that I don’t need my brain to be consuming at that point.

A conscious decision to accept or deny information into my consciousness at that particular point in time.

The emotional baggage I carried for years around driving in cities is now completely reframed as I built up a more robust understanding of the little white lie my brain had been telling me!

So…

Can you relate to something similar?

Only to realise that there is more to the story than you’ve been led to believe?

🥳 Are you Alive?

Well, by scientific standards, yes you probably are!

But you’ll understand what I mean when I ask are you REALLY alive?

I was challenged by this word when I came across those amazing words from Carl Jung - “Live. The unavoidable decides.” What is it then… to live?

I’m pretty clear about what this means to me…

But what I really don’t know is what that means… to YOU!

And if we don’t know what being “alive” means to each other…

How can we possibly understand the multitude of reasons that we’re all here, buzzing about?

So I put it to you…

Can you tell me in one single word what it means to you, to be “ALIVE”?
