Sisters Jennifer and Theresa make up the dynamic duo behind Virginia Beach’s first ever candle bar & boutique.

They were looking for career pivots and after brainstorming various options they landed on Sea Love.

Coastal vibes, sustainability and a welcoming cozy environment are the focus of their business and it makes for a delightful experience.

I think my candle will consist of sandalwood, lemongrass with a hint of gardenia!

Ryan and I already have our tickets and are looking SO forward to this date night out for a good cause.

I’ve been sharing my love for with ya’ll for a while now and this is their fundraiser event to benefit their 501c3, Green Waste Initiatives.

The team at Drishti is raising money so they can continue to work with churches, schools and fellow residents within our community. This ranges from education, to establishing and maintaining gardens and of course supplying the compost!

While I can’t recommend getting pictures taken 5 weeks postpartum, I can confidently say that if you’re gonna go for it then its imperative you work with

Ya’ll, she just might be the most talented photographer in the area.

You can’t tell from these pictures that it’s 8am and 97 degree out on top of rainforest-esq humidity. You can’t see that I am an emotional basket case on top of literally busting out of this dress be I didn’t try it on ahead of time, and that Roan is being a bit of a pistol who wouldn’t be bribed to save our lives. By looking at Ryan you would never know that he has completely sweat through his button up and deodorant is literally dripping down his pants...

If that’s not a testimony to Liza’s skill set then I don’t know what is. On top of being very good at what she does, Liza was also so patient with our hot mess of a situation that morning. She was delightful to chat with in between big emotions from the toddler and honestly, I think from the time we parked to the time we headed home was MAYBE 20 minutes.

Many of ya’ll participated in .vb mama giveaway this past week and so I wanted to share my experience doing the the magnesium salt float at 38 weeks and a few massages throughout my pregnancy.

The salt pod created a weightless feeling that my body so desperately needed. It was very relaxing and a forced slow down that we often don’t get in those last few weeks.

I had a few 60 minute prenatal massages with AmandaLee at .vb & each time I left feeling much better than when I went in. She was so patient when I needed a break whether it was a hot flash or sips of water. AmandaLee was very knowledgable and a joy to chat with about all things pregnancy and motherhood.

I seriously can’t recommend these prenatal services enough.

*also great for non pregnant gals*

These 5 women have each played an integral part in the success of MNBOVB throughout its first year.

From attending our very first event, to bringing friends and family along and continuing to be an active member of the community both in person and on social media, to collaborating on events… and lets not forget the role of sounding board as I learned (and continue to do so)

I am so grateful to each of them for joining in on this journey and wanted to spend some non work related girls time together so I reached out to Capt. Josh of after seeing his party barge pass by one evening.

is a family owned and operated boat rental company. You pay by the hour and that includes a captain so that all boaters can enjoy their time. We cruised along for almost 2 hours before heading back to catch the sunset as we approached the dock.

It was such a fun night!

To top it off we enjoyed sandwiches and a plethora of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

The boat comes with a large cooler and ice so you can bring whatever drinks you fancy.

Once the hospital stay was no longer on the table, we rolled back nannies, meal trains, dog walkers, family help etc…. But one thing we decided to keep was a bimonthly home cleaner.

I had interviewed a few and Kayla and I clicked immediately. She came highly recommended by a friend and honestly she’s a mom of two littles, a business owner and we just ended up chatting like old friends for quite a while.

Today was our first cleaning and Ryan literally just strolled past our wall oven and commented that he could see his reflection bc it was so clean… for the first time EVER.

Kayla’s business just took a huge exciting leap and she hired her first employee. She’s ready to take on a few new clients so if you’re thinking this might be something your family could benefit from, please shoot her a text!

Initially I felt her prices were fair for our space but after seeing the quality of work/attention to detail, I can say with conviction that she is absolutely worth every penny!

This is often how our fam survives the witching hour as we are simultaneously trying to feed the dogs, cook dinner and Ryan is still occasionally fielding calls…

What are some good tidbits you could share for surviving the twilight zone that is 4-6ish?!

Have you checked out this fun annual charity pickleball tourney bringing awareness and raising money for Cystic Fibrosis?!

Proceeds go to the Fight CF Foundation which funds critical research needed to develop life-sustaining medication and treatments on the road to a cure. Fight CF also provides needed assistance to qualifying CF patients in Hampton Roads through partnerships with our two local CF Care Centers at Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters and Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth.
