My quizzes have a reputation for being hard, and while this may be true, the more important aspect in quiz nights is that the teams- with all of their individual spheres of knowledge, and sometimes not a lot of overlap between groups- have competition. My aim as a host is to not only hit that number 1 section, but to have a little fun in the primary colours too. If all the questions come from one of blue, yellow or red, then one team may well have a great night, and a high score, but what about all the rest? How much fun did they have?
So no. I will not be changing my strategy for setting questions any time soon. I go to quizzes where I and my team get 2/10 and I take home that it was not my/our night, because there have also been 10/10 nights and wins too. That's what quizzing is about. Every team that attends my quizzes regularly has had their glory. Every team has had close calls. Every team has had their disappointments. That's how it goes.
