STAFFORD TOMLINSON
Raised in Hackney, Stafford has supplied the DJs of the world with records for the last 30 years. He begun collecting records as a child, minding the market stall on Fridays’ in exchange for payment in records and practicing on a pair of decks in the common room at school.
By ‘84 Stafford was working a day job, studying ballet dance, and working the evenings at Groove Records in Soho. Known for his knowledge of a never-ending catalog of music, Stafford was headhunted to work in Black Market Records to advise the biggest names on the hottest sounds, selecting music to be played out almost everywhere.
Alongside owning his own shop, Solid Sounds, Stafford holds past residencies at Spats, Wag Club, Madame Jojo’s and at the Borderline alongside Trevor Nelson and Gordon Mack. Stafford can currently be heard at the Village in Hoxton Bar & Kitchen. With a multidisciplinary yet seamlessly smooth style, Stafford’s sets reflect his deeply rooted knowledge of dance music over the decades, his upcoming set with Do 4 Love is one not to be missed.
