Finally got around to making this geode cake for !

Been a long time waiting, check out the exciting process of my first baby crystals in the make and decorating the cake!

Twist off of a strawberry shortcake recipe, I think I’ve found my favourite way to finish off a cake: meringue top!

Half mango, half strawberry shortcake with whipped cream layer in between topped with a meringue layer and some chocolate decor. Beautiful for a summer, picnic dessert!

Here’s an idea: tea bags, earrings, save the date card(s)-if your wedding is in more than one country, pictures for memory sakes all in a plain wooden box so you have space to decorate and make it even more personal!

This creative wedding bride managed to make everything thoughtful and simple.

Maple Leaf: so many things happened this year let alone this past month and week in Canada. Praying for all those who have been affected by tragic events. Canada, Toronto, let us stand together and help each other out.

it was fun, long process making this piece. To appreciate all beauty aspects of nature, I had carved out the grooves of the leaf first so that when I sponged and dripped onto the leaf with a mix of water colour and acrylic, the paints would flow down naturally along the wood and grooves of the leaf just as raindrops would down a leaf in nature! Let nature take its course- I definitely appreciated leaves a lot more after this. 🍁

Happy Canada Day everyone!! Hope you are staying cool & hydrated in this week’s weather. Enjoy with tons of friends and fireworks! I know for me, having lived here more than a few years now, I can truly call Canada a country that I can call home even if it is not my eternal home. Blessed to have been able to make this move and to have all the people I’ve come to know in this country.

Hope everyone enjoyed their Victoria Day weekend watching the royal wedding! It was truly a well timed, beautiful wedding with nice weather that many could enjoy 💍

“It’s great seeing everyone gather together but it is sad that it happened because of such a tragic event” said a friend.
I agree. And through the darkness, there is light, hope and help for those who suffer. Though lights go out, candles can light each other back up again. I pray that we will be able to help those around and support them in ways they wish or through ways we can.
It has been one week since the tragic event of the van attack happened and first responders and support groups are still working hard to be present and doing their jobs. Along Yonge through the stretch where the incident happened, one can see stores and restaurants putting out messages for the hurt and giving what they can to offer love and support. People of Toronto, no matter the background or age come out to support one another- this is all but a glimpse of the greater love.
