QUESTION: Can I invite some guests to the ceremony only?

ANSWER: While I completely understand the budget concerns and desire to include everyone, I say a resounding no! Sorry 😁

There is no way around offending those ceremony-only guests. In reality, you're asking them to dress up, bring a gift and not be fed after. Be brave and leave them off the list altogether. I promise most will understand! Another solution you can opt for is to cut back on other items to make room for more guests in the budget.

Keep this in mind: Unless you make your ceremony private, anyone can attend without an invitation.

Question: If an invitee did not reply, should they be allowed entry if they show up?

Answer: If extra seating is not available and the addition of this guest cannot be seamless, then they should never be allowed to disrupt the event. Keep in mind the need to pull out extra seating/table, place setting, added costs for meal and always be sure to RSVP.

I often get questions on wedding etiquette so I will answer as many as I can here. Follow for answers to common questions

Question: If a family member's name is not on the invitation are they invited?

Answer: No they are not invited! Do not ask! Though often disappointing try not to take it personal. You may be close to the couple but keep in mind they may have many close friends and relatives; inviting them all could exceed their budget.
