Clydach Fairs Location: Clydach, Abergavenny. Local fairs arranged about three times a year.
(7)

The Clydach Village fairs aim to bring Clydach and surrounding villages together to bring back some of the old fashioned community spirit. The events themselves are not-for-profit, run by volunteers, to enable small businesses to come together and sell their wares.

The weather is set to fine , perfect for our Easter Craft Fair tomorrow (24th). Pop in and browse the lovely stalls, buy a raffle ticket or take part in guess the name of the fox (the fox goes to the winner), or guess how many eggs in the jar. The winner gets the jar of eggs and a chocolate bunny. Cakes and refreshments in the kitchen. And of course, the Easter Bunny has popped by and left 30 eggs for the first 30 children to arrive.

Not advertising a fair this time, but a TABLETOP sale, being run by my daughter, Hannah Meredith. If you are interested in having a space (and please bring your own table/stand), the fee is £5. Contact Hannah - or me - for details. So far, for sale will be household items, clothing, books, past writing magazines, surplus craft materials and surplus stationery - with the list growing.

Bring the entries to the fair! Prizes for each age group.

Time to re-set, I think. We have the village hall back for parties, events etc., and I am starting to think about having a summer craft fair - possibly on July 16th, before the summer holidays start. However, if it is to go ahead, I need the help of locals, not just to take part, but to set up, take posters around etc.
Maybe a sub committee for the actual fairs? It's a not for profit fair - any excess after expenses are paid for (from table fees), go towards the running of the village hall.
Please let me know if you are interested in helping, before I contact possible stallholders on my list.

Hello everyone! As there won't be any local fairs this year, Sioni and I are setting up a 'local' Christmas shopping page for the month of November. If you are one of our stallholders, you'll soon be receiving an invitation to join as a seller. Here's hoping for a great event!

I hope everyone is doing well and that this awful virus have kept away from you all.
I don't think fairs are about to start any time soon, but hope perhaps in time for Christmas?
Stay safe and well everyone.

A big thank you to all the stallholders, and everyone who came along, for a lovely day today at the fair. Fundraising -wise we raised a total of £130. £50 will go to the Lymphoma charity, and £80 to the Gateway Church in Abergavenny for the Homeless project. A special thank you to Sioni - and Francis, too - for doing all the hard work, setting it all up. :-)

Busy knitting a Christmas jumper for a polar bear teddy for Name the Polar Bear. :-)

Hopefully lots of wildlife will be fed after all the pumpkin carving for the pumpkin competition!

I asked Evie, 6, if she could do me a favour and write down a few girls' names for the name the teddy game. She did a great job - 101 names! :-) I'll draw the name out using one of the number generators online (she numbered them all, too) when alone, and seal the result in an envelope. :-)
