The 9th album dropped last night at 11:54pm EST. "The Crushing Angle" is what have been calling our 'Greatest Hits Volume II'.

Both of us played a multitude of instruments and the expression through them is exactly what we both knew we were capable of archiving. In many cases it surpassed what we thought we could do.

These songs are gorgeous. Complex. Melodic. The scenes that will come to mind when hearing this record front to back are only limited by your imagination.

'Shelf Life University' from is live! Words from

In 2003 I was enrolled at Central Michigan University, but not really attending classes. I was focused on creating and recording music, my way, for better or worse. Three years prior to this the musical gear manufacturer Korg released their all-in-one digital workstation, the D16. This is what I was looking for. I was already using the D8, which was their first digital 8 track recorder. However, there were some limitations.

The D16 excelled at everything where the D8 struggled. You could record 8 mono tracks, and 4 stereo tracks at once. It had 4 XLR inputs, a guitar pre-amp, and a mastering section which held quite possibly the best digital limiter both Mitch and I have ever heard. It's that “ONE” limiter that just did what every engineer, singer, musician, wants out of their recording.

At the time the D16 was everything to me. I had a Crate GT15, a modified Fender Squire from 1996, an Ibanez 7 string, a 1997 USA Fender Stratocaster, a Roland XP-10, a Korg Drum Machine, and a 4 string bass which had no name. Besides the 20 seconds of vocals scattered about in one track, these are the only things I used for these recordings.

The guitar is direct in using all Korg effects, distortions, clean tones, delays, all of it. The drums were done with the Roland XP-10 using my fingers on two stereo tracks. I did not sequence nor loop anything. Everything is played with no punch ins/outs, even with a digital workstation. I was, and still am, stubborn about playing it “all the way through”.

This is also one of the last times I would ever use a metronome for recording purposes. My mental shifts in recordings are so strange to me when I think about them at length. They seem to follow my patterns in life and all surroundings. I knew I was never going to graduate college. 2004 was my last semester at CMU. Three years later I would be in a band called Beast In The Field, two years after that I would meet Mitch while he was attending CMU! The TKV cutting head and stylus looking like how coming out of a Michigan winter feels.

Head has been sent back and repaired perfectly by Konstantin twice cause we blew it up. First time was because we didn't have it fused correctly. Second time was because we forgot to mute a buss channel and it took a broadcast limited program straight to the dome.

We have 2 cutting styli getting ready to be shipped back to France for resharpening and new heat leads cause of all the things. Working on learning how to re-wind those leads ourselves with a little bit of awesome tooling help from

So thankful for TKV & MyShank who make these precision tools. They also repair them, provide guidance, send feedback (the good kind), and educate us as cutters.

Reminiscent of Kahn Jamal's “Drum Dance To The Motherland”, Beaver Harris' “African Drums”, and Ulali's “Mach Jchi”, a 28 minute drum opus composed by SOLP Bandleader ARC OF ALL.

In Esotericism, Pleiades is the most venerated of all constellations. It contains Sirius, the brightest star in our night sky. It is a continuous subject of study for the so-called "Western World". However, for those involved in great antiquity it is no mystery at all. This constellation, more commonly known as "The Seven Sisters", is heralded as the reason why we are here.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of The Seven Sisters, is that only six of them are visible from Earth. Yet ancient peoples like the Dogon, Yoruba, Hopi, Olmec, Hopi, Amraya, and Oneida all had access to this "invisible" Seventh Star. Every fifty years Sirius dims in the night sky, because a smaller star is making its way around it in orbit. These tribes have been honoring this astronomical movement for hundreds of thousands of years. This star, now known as Sirius B, had remained unclassified in popular culture until 1970 as a systematic way to undermine and destroy Aboriginal history, and culture. Even NASA can no longer contain this "secret".

My story of The Seven Sisters is now The Seven Mothers, the protectors. We celebrate them with drum and dance, as drumming and dancing could carry a death sentence from Albion Colonial Warlords. The Yoruba said that, "The Drum Sounding A Message In War Is Beaten In A Cryptic Manner; Only Wise Men Can Dance To It, And Only Experienced Men Can Understand It." I drum for this message, for the return of a Sacred Earth. For those who died sounding the drum. For all my mothers, for all my protectors.
