GENERAL INFORMATION
What is ozone?
» OZONE is a molecular oxygen allotropic phenomenon (O2) which is found as a gaseous constituent in the upper atmosphere. Ozone layer surrounds the earth and protects it against solar radiation. It is the only substance in the atmosphere that absorbs ultraviolet solar radiation. This thin layer makes life on the earth possible. Ozone was named after the Greek word “ozein” which means “smell”. Its phosphorous smell is noticed after lightning storms. Its chemical name is Oxygen Peroxide and its symbol is O3. Ozone is much more active chemically than ordinary oxygen and is a better oxidizing agent. Ozone is produced from oxygen through a physical process applying electrical current and using an “ozone generator” which emits O3. It is a mixture of two gases in a plasmatic medium in which a chain reaction involving oxygen is caused by ozone, as an oxygenator and oxidizing agent
In accordance with regulations established by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) the mixture generators emit must contain 99,95% oxygen and 0,05% ozone as the maximum level of ozone acceptable. Ozone history
» The first O3 generator was designed in 1857 by the German Werner Von Siemens. In the second half of the 20th century Justus Baron Von Liebig, a German chemist, was the first to study ozone’s application in human beings. Afterwards, the Russians continued with the research and transferred their progress in the field to their allied countries. Its very peak was during the Second World War, when it was used for treating infections. The invention of antibiotic diminished its use in traditional medicine in the 40s, but the discovery of plastic in 1950 made its use effective. Up to the 80s it was only used by homeopathic doctors. Then, its use extended to allopathic medicine (pharmacological medicine), once the scientific studies proved its effectiveness. This allowed this therapy to be authorized and regulated by sanitation systems for its use by traditional medicine in countries such as Germany, Spain, Italy, Cuba, Russia, China and Poland among others. What is ozonotherapy?
» It is the technique by which ozone gas is used as a catalytic element.
» In the medical field, it is the technique that uses ozone gas as therapeutic agent for a great number of pathologies. Adelo considers it a molecular atom medicine since ozone is constituted by and atom and an oxygen molecule, normalizing the cellular metabolism. This technique must only be performed by a doctor.
» Also is used in industrial manufactures to purified drinkable water and/or residues, in general oxidation plants, like textil, foods, petrochemical, perfums, etc. Moreover is a strong bactericidal in ambiental conditions, using it to desinfect sanitaries, operating theatres, hipermarkets, basements, stores, etc. In contact with foods is innocuo, it can desinfect and conserve: fleshs, flour, cereal, fruits, fishs, verdures and gas and mineral waters. In the animal area, it can be used like a device to treat infections, hurts, bitings, etc. In the agrochemical area, is used to eliminate insects over plants, grains and soils. What are its beneficial effects on the human organism?
1- It is used with diabetic patients since it accelerates the cells use of glucose.
2- It directly reacts on non-saturated fat acids which become hydrosoluble thus resulting in the elimination of fat deposits and cellulitis.
3- It regulates the cellular oxidative stress (anti-free radicals).
4- It has antigerm, bactericide, antivirus, antimycotic and antiparasital effects.
5- Cell and tissue regeneration improving healing of ulcers, bacterial infections, and wounds.
6- It prevents the release of nonciceptive peptides, substances intervening in pain sensation (analgesic effect).
7- It regulates the production of substances intervening in the inflammatory process (anti-inflammatory effect).
8- It increases the oxygen metabolism, augmenting its absorption and liberating it through the red globules to the tissue. It improves blood circulation and cellular oxygenation. It is therefore effective for vascular illnesses: such as brain vascular disease, coronary vascular disease, arterial vascular disease and peripheral vascular disease.
9- It revitalizes the natural cellular defense system and stimulates the enzymes optimizing the correct cell nutrition; hence, it postpones the ageing of the cells. In general, it makes the normal physiological processes of the organism work efficiently, optimizing and postponing deterioration. Thanks to these properties, ozone can be used for many illnesses and it is also a great allied to obtain rapid, better and lasting results in rehabilitation programs
