Patstitsio! A very comforting greek dish with the perfect balance of warm spices such as nutmeg, cinnamon and clove covered with a bed of bechamel. I have always waited, and postponed before venturing with these spices as savory dishes... I was scared of strong tastes especially clove.... but somehow I learnt to renew my relationship with it after making this fun dish. A great variation from your usual pâté chinois or lasagne ^^. Time to explore ethiopian food! Making the injera was such a crazy ride. As impatient as I was, all I could do was to wait until the wild yeast develop in the flour mixture. Finally, I got rewarded with a great dinner...It was well worth the wait I guess. And I absolutely love the berbère seasoning

It has been a good 6 years I haven't made zongzi, a chinese rice dumplings filled with meat, beans and rice. I never really loved the salted egg yolks in them and maybe that was the main reason why I never feel excited to eat it. Every year my mother would gift me some. But this year is a busy one.. and I'll be the one making them. Today, we gathered all the soaked beans ,rice and marinated meat and started to wrap! Little did I know through the chaos of wrapping, grains leaking through my kid's hands, I had amazing discussions with my kids. So many interesting topic about life, our ancestors and dragon boat.I should make this as a tradition.

Woke up this morning and peeked through the curtains only to find this gray day ahead of us. I came out of my room feeling super groggy until later in the afternoon, just when i finished baking my scones, it started to snow... What better way to enjoy the view? Scones, devonshire cream, jam and some tea with my fancy tea cup. Suddenly, life is good again, what a perfect day to relax!

Wow! Cette fin de semaine a été bien remplie pour notre petite famille. Visiter avec des amis et de la famille nous ont fait beaucoup de bien! Et bien évidemment, pour Wingcooks, ce n'est qu'une excuse pour se donner l'occasion de créer et de concocter des belles affaires dans sa cuisine. On vous présente Kirby avec son étoile, un des gâteau à la vanille des plus moelleux.Comme que l'inspiration de cette fin de semaine était la nostalgie d'enfance, un gâteau blanc avec des fraises + Kirby est un MUST!

Remisnicing my childhood snack. Billot log jelly roll, anybody remember that thing? Well there was a very long love hate relationship I had with this dessert. Mainly because we had it too often at home. Super windy icy out there, I figured it's the perfect time to create something good to eat especially with the school closed! My twist on that roll or a lamington cake. Whatever you call it, the taste of sweet jam, fresh berries and soft crumbs is just a reminder of pure happiness :) Now all I want to do is build a fort and eat that cake in my little world.
