Thrilled to welcome the next generation of architects at VUB - Vrije Universiteit Brussel ! 🏗️🌿 This year, a remarkable 50 new students are joining the Architecture Department, renowned for its groundbreaking research in circular construction. 🌐

It's undeniable that interest in circular building practices is on the rise, and it all begins right here in the classrooms.

KOZO has been proud to play a part in guiding these bright minds through the exciting world of sustainable construction. Through our case studies, we've shown them the incredible possibilities that await.

As the cherry on top, these students will do their first design assignment based on the KOZO framework and principles. 🏡 We can't wait to see the innovative solutions this new generation will bring to the table!

Met een toekomst waarin we steeds kleiner gaan wonen, is het slimme gebruik van ruimte en materialen niet langer een wens maar een noodzaak. Blij om te zien dat de lancering van onze eerste circulaire woning de aandacht krijg die het verdient door HLN.be

Livios kreeg enkele maanden geleden de primeur en mocht als eerste binnenkijken.

De samenwerking met onze partner Bao Living waarbij we onze innovatieve bouwsystemen combineren zorgt ervoor dat deze woning volledig circulair is!

Hoge naaldbomen, ezels in de wei, weekendhuisjes uit de jaren ‘70 verstopt in het groen… De setting van deze nieuwe vakantiewoning in Olen - een samenwerking van Bao Living, expert in modulaire technieken, en Kozo, specialist in circulaire houtskeletbouw - is alvast veelbelovend. After an elaborated period of research on how to create a 100% demountable & 'circular' building system in collaboration with Studio Dott. we are proud to present you.... our first KOZO house!

For the interior appliances we set up a collaboration with Bao Living. Bao Living's 'Smart Adaptable Module' guarantees the circularity of the utilities and the KOZO building system ensures the circularity of the building shell.

The unique volumetric composition of the house integrates perfectly in it's surroundings. Inside there is a bright living room with open kitchen and sufficient smart storage space, a bathroom with toilet and two bedrooms, one of which is on the mezzanine.

The house consist of a load-bearing wooden frame and modular interior and exterior panels. It is built according to all current insulation requirements and equipped with a heat pump and rainwater reuse. Because of its removable shell, it is easy to make adjustments in the future, such as adding extra insulation, moving a window or adding an extra bedroom.

In 2022 KOZO developed fast and effective solutions for sustainable 'circular' installations for Unwind Festival. In this way, KOZO tries to make the transition to a circular economy through festivals. The installations make use of construction elements, produced in Belgium, from different industrial cycles. KOZO ensures that these can be assembled in different ways so that their application in the future is assured.

The design consists of a series of modules based on the system of warehouse racks. The modules are used in the courtyard of the OLT for bars, food stands, etc. The modules can be adjusted in length, width, choice of finishing materials or combined into a larger whole.

Project developed in close collaboration with our friends from Luckytree.

For the launch of our new KOZO building method, the red carpet was rolled out! 👏🥂

We designed a wooden grid structure according to a new innovative construction method with a load-bearing wooden skeleton and modular infill panels. The grid allows for different styles of design for dividing the indoor and outdoor areas of the Film Festival. The concept of the red carpet was also reviewed and given a fresh new look!

The entire project was part of a collaboration with Luckytree , who directed the scenography of the Film Fest Gent.

Arrived at the site of Film Fest Gent where KOZO will introduce a new construction system. The wooden elements and metal connectors have been developed for the construction of adaptable homes and can also be used for temporary event constructions. The traditional building blocks from the events and fairs are thus replaced by a beautiful sustainable wooden construction.

At KOZO every event is a statement. "A story. Surprising, striking, creative and unique."

This summer KOZO went to Monegros Desert Festival in Spain and took part in the realisation of the elrow stage together with Christopher Dowding & the creative minds of Artescape.

It has turned out to be a journey full of exciting interactions, with a main event that exceeded all expectations.
