Our passion for event planning and coordinating was birthed out of experience managing publicity for multiple clients across different industries, while also planning and coordinating special events to support these clients and their projects. To this end we launched Events by Mayven to cater specifically to event planning, and coordinating needs. One of the best things you can do for your vendors is leave them a review. It only takes ~5mins, but its impact is significant. Especially for us, as planners; the true impact of our work isn’t visual…it’s an experience that you feel. The feeling of things being under control, the feeling of the day moving along while you stay present.

One of the biggest ways to make a statement or have a unique element to your wedding is in the outfit/attire that you choose to wear; especially for a multicultural celebration.

Every thread tells a story, every color holds meaning. Honoring culture isn’t about tradition vs. modern — it’s about weaving both into your love story.

We love when cultural outfits are incorporated into wedding day. In this case, Jency who is Indian, chose to have a Saree as part of her wedding day looks. Rich fabric colors, stacks of bangles and jewelry gave a nod to family.

Scouting photo locations weeks ahead of wedding day on-behalf of our lovely couple is what made this moment possible. Having this photo land a 3-page magazine spread in was just the perfect reward that extra level of top-tier client experience we aim for.

In our consultation, I remember Jency mentioning that she’d love to be able to take pictures by the water or in some garden like area after the ceremony. They had opted not to do a first-look and had about 2-hours after ceremony mass, and before cocktail hour at the venue.
For context both her and Zach were upstate and her photographer didn’t live by the wedding location. I was the closest…and so I made a shortlist of locations that could be possible options and went to go see them in-person to determine which would work best as a photo spot post ceremony.
This is what above and beyond looks like over here. Going the extra mile to make our clients vision possible, and helping vendor partners be setup for success so on wedding day we are moving efficiently to deliver a seamless and stress-free experience.

During consultations couples share with me what they’re most looking forward to and hoping the day feels like. Seamless and stress-free, things being on time and moving along with ease and not chaos, being present with each other vs being all over the place etc.
All of that is possible when you 1) hire vendors who are professional and care about their craft 2) When you trust your vendors, and truly partner with them by sharing your vision and preferences in detail while also receiving their advice and guidance 3) Working with your planner to get all the heavy lifting and pre-wedding work done, so come wedding day you can be present and allow your vendors to operate in confidence even if/when we might need to pivot.

This moment right here…excitement, some nerves, and the transition from one chapter to another. A bride who is excitedly looking forward to rounding the corner to see her husband to be, while nervously clinging on to Dad.

A Dad who is happy and proud of his daughter, but slightly emotional over this moment that he’s probably envisioned since his baby girl was born.

I tell my couples all the time…give your parents grace through the planning period. Find a way to compromise with some of their wishes. Majority of the time they’re just filled with excitement and trying to hold on to a piece of their now grown baby 😊. Also, understand that even before you were born, they’ve dreamed of this special day too!

As your Planner - whether for Full-Service Planning or Wedding Management and Coordination - I’m constantly reading the room, and helping you and your family navigate through the emotions of the day. It’s a lot of love, and sometimes we just need a different perspective to understand it.
