The Inagural season of the BOSS Pro-Karting, Buckeye Karting Series is nearing its final round at Wilmington Raceway Park so we wanted to update everyone with the points standings so far.

Drivers must compete in all 3 races to qualify for championship awards, but we encourage everyone to come out for some great racing!

Important information for Round 2 of the Buckeye Karting Series at Fremont Raceway Park.

Parking: We allow pit parking and set-up on Friday, first come first serve. Please remember, pits are small at FRP so please be mindful of where you’re parking and how much space you are taking up.

Camping: Overnight camping is allowed, no hookups.

Spec fuel: Spec fuel will be 93 Octane pump gas from the Marathon station located at 1912 Hayes Ave. It’s less than 5 minutes from the track.

Rules: A rule book will be sent out via email to everyone at their registered email with Track Rabbit before the end of the day. If you’re having any issues with receiving your copy please reach out to us personally. There is nothing new or groundbreaking in there, just some clarification on a couple procedures and rules. Please take a couple minutes to read through that.

With the success of our 206 Sr class during Round 1, we have decided to do it again for Round 2.

The BOSS Pro-Karting 206 Sr Class will once again feature a $2,600 Purse going back to 10th place at Fremont Raceway Park!

Pre-Entry is now open for Ohio's Favorite Sprint Bullring, Fremont Raceway Park on July 27th/28th. This will be Round 2 of 3 for the Buckeye Karting Series Presented by BOSS Pro-Karting.

Please be sure to get your entries in by 8PM ET on 7/22 to avoid late fees. If entering after that, the late fee is an additional $25 and must be completed before 8AM on race day.

It's officially race week and here is everything you need to know to join us at Thompson Kart Raceway for Round 1 of the BKS presented by BOSS Pro-Karting. If you plan on joining us, PLEASE be sure to take some time to read this full post.

Wilmington Raceway Park Kid Karts- Ages: 5 to 8 Comer and Predator 79cc , 206 (.310” Black Slide)
Schafer Prototype and Production 206 Sportsman- Ages 8 to 12 (.490” Green Slide)
Rocketech Motorsports 206 Jr- Ages 12 to 15 (.570” Yellow Slide)
Boss Pro Karting 206 Sr- Ages 15+ (Unrestricted Black Slide)
Ryan’s Performance Products 206 Masters- Ages 35+ / 30+ if driver is >200lbs (Unrestricted Black Slide)
Hoosier Kartsport KA100 Sr- Ages 15+

Spec Fuel-
For all 206 Classes, your fuel must be Sunoco 93 Purchased at:
Hambden Ready Go
13940 GAR Highway, Chardon, OH
For KA100 Sr, fuel must be 100% Gasoline/Oil Mix with no Alcohol Content.

Tire Rules-
You must be running one of the 4 tire Brands/Compounds Listed below.
Hoosier / R60B
Vega / Red
Mojo / D2
MG / Red
Tires will be scanned after the completion of Qualifying and those tires are to remain on the kart for the rest of the race day. Verifying tires will be a part of tech at the end of the Finals.

Parking-
Parking will open on Friday at 4:00pm and will be open until 8:00pm. Please be aware that we are going to try to park people as effectively and efficiently as we possibly can.

This Sunday, Thompson Kart Raceway is hosting their first event of the year.

Busy week with a lot of stuff going on! Here is a little run down.

Wednesday May 1st. We are open for practice from 6pm until dark. $8 Gate Fee(includes pit pass). Practice Fee $20 for Members($25 Non-Members)

Saturday May 4th. New Racers Orientation and Mini Drivers School. This is for new drivers only!
Time is from 10am to 1pm. $10 Gate Fee. $40 Per Driver. Includes 1-7pm Practice.

Saturday May 4th Practice 1-7 Pm.
Gate Fee $10. Practice Fee $30 Per Driver. Non-Members $40.

$2,500 Guaranteed Payout for BOSS Pro-Karting 206 Senior!

We are excited to announce that our BOSS Pro-Karting 206 Senior Class will have a guaranteed payout for Round 1 at Thompson Kart Raceway! Whoever takes it home will have to earn it though as the 206 Senior class will feature a Pea-Pick Heat Race Format. (Please see details in the comments.)

We understand that not everyone appreciates this format, but 206 Senior will be our premier class. You can expect to see the best racers in the Midwest putting their racecraft on display, because if you're going to take home the $1000 to win, you're going to have to pass some karts!

This payout and format is for the 206 Senior Class only. All other classes will have a Practice-Qualifying-Prefinal-Final format.

We would like to introduce all of you to our 2024 Tire Rule. All competitors will be limited to one set of tires during race day.

Below we have listed 3 ways we have found this to be beneficial for both the series and racers.

1. For all racers competing on used tires, this will keep overall cost low. With this tire rule, we will be able to accommodate most racers, regardless of the tire selection at their home track.

2. For all racers planning on purchasing new tires. This will allow you to purchase a set of tires that matches your home Track/Series.

3. Adds excitement to the racing! During our research, we reached out to racers and teams to ask what tire they would choose. We received surprisingly mixed answers with all 4 tires being chosen at least once.
