Your wedding day can feel like a blur with trying to stay on your timeline or wanting to spend time with each of your guests.

While spending time with your guests is important, spending time with your new spouse is, shall I say, more important.

This is your day, the day you’ve planned for months, and the day you join your lives together, and every moment should be spent together relishing the fact you’re married and celebrating with your loved ones.

Two suggestions I offer to every couple is to do first look AND have a private first look of your reception space. Taking these moments together before you walk down the aisle or before your guests arrive at your reception begins will be moments you’ll cherish for many years.

This elegant-yet-casual cocktail style reception featured an assortment of table and seating types for people who wanted to sit while they ate their dinner. For our short cocktail tables, we brought in specialty chairs draped with cozy throw blankets so people could warm up as the night cooled after sunset. Floral & luxe faux coral arrangements softened up the table tops and lent a fun ocean vibe to the cocktail atmosphere of the Farm.

Another look at this spectacular view!✨ We aren’t sure if a prettier natural backdrop exists. The landscape of Maui is something truly special, especially on this part of the island. One of our wedding themes was “where land meets sea” because this part of Maui holds special importance to the bride and groom. They are deeply connected with the indigenous history, the natural ecosystem, and the overall beauty of this very special place. It was an honor to be part of this meaningful, beautiful ceremony.

Sometimes you have to work around mother nature’s plans. This lush tropical ceremony decor was originally planned to be a dainty curved asymmetrical structure with a small opening at the middle. However, strong winds coming off the ocean had other plans for us. The curved top part of the arbor ripped right off the arbor with each big gust of wind, so we had to enact our Plan B. The amazing was able to take some extra greenery from the table arrangements and build up the arbor so it was thicker and more structurally sound in the wind. It looked even more tropical and Maui-inspired than the original look, which worked perfectly with the natural landscape. The end result were two asymmetrical floral plinths that perfectly framed the couple and the “wishing trees” behind them. Thank goodness for having a great team who can pivot at the drop of a dime!💖

A front-facing view of our meandering ceremony aisle. Inspired by all the natural beauty of Maui, we created an aisle that resembled an organic meandering stream. Not only was it beautiful with the thousands of delicately placed flower stems, but the symbolism of our path down the aisle reflected the long and beautiful journey that brought our couple to where they were on this very special day, saying “I do!” in front of their closest friends and family.
