Went to the cinema for the first time in years to watch Alien Romulus. Good film overall. Excellent sets and sound. But there was too much fan service and CGI “ash” was rubbish. Anyone else seen it? What did you think?

I keep seeing a lot of older DJs bashing up and coming DJs for their choice of format. No youngster is gonna drop 2k on a set of 1210s, it’s a dead format. Deal with it. I wouldn’t bother if I started DJing today. The one bit of advice I will give to the younger DJs around me, and something I wish I had known when I started. The day I went all-in on DJing as a business, everything changed. Devoting my time transformed my passion into respect. Venues started paying more and treating me as a pro. The love for music is still there, but now it’s about building a brand and thriving. DJing requires commitment and time, impacting family life with late nights and weekend commitments. Many DJs lack professionalism and dedication, leading to unreliability. This is why they’ll struggle to secure serious bookings. Stop trying to gate keep, it’s not cool.
