Lauren and Kam's spring day was such a beautiful celebration! Sarah of truly thought of every detail, had an incredible sneak peek gallery out before I had even packed all the candles away (truly), and it was a joy to help bring their garden party vision to life!

They were the sweetest couple too- the sweet peas in the front of Lauren's bouquet were added by Kam himself the morning of the wedding! He arranged many floral vases for her through their relationship, and he wanted to have a hand in the most important flowers she'd get! 🥹

Ali & Paul's colorful day centered around the beautiful glass-windowed staircase at the Art Museum, and we made sure to get the most out of their install- it framed their portraits and grand entrance for their dance, it was the backdrop for their cake cutting, and the best spot for one last dip kiss before send off!

Eleanor and I enjoyed an afternoon soaking up this beautiful February weather and delighting in all the forsythia starting to bloom around Birmingham... I can't wait for all the beautiful spring palettes and florals in our lineup coming soon! Spring weddings get some of the best blooms- spirea, sweet peas, early ranunculus, tulips, and so many more lovelies! ✨

I've had this in my drafts for a bit, so today's a perfect day to share- happy anniversary, Elizabeth & Peter! Their day was such a beautiful, colorful celebration with their people. And you can't beat confetti cannons on the dance floor underneath a massive install of disco balls and greenery!

Quick little arrangement just for me with some Easter leftovers… forced myself to set a timer to put something together in 10 minutes or less so I didn’t overthink it (and also because we’re moving this week it’s chaos.) I’m loving the vibrancy and cheerfulness on the mantel, especially as our house becomes more and more empty! 🌸

Thank you for always making my flowers look their best on film 😍 We styled this arrangement for some quick fun shots earlier this spring!

I played around with groupings of two in this compote- normally, we design in odd numbers (3 roses, 5 ranunculus, etc) but since this arrangement was for the Heart Ball, I thought it would be fun to have lots of blooms in pairs! 💕

Hey flower friends! Yesterday was our 7th birthday! 🎂 In honor of the celebration, I figured it was a good time to re-introduce myself here!

I’m Lauren, the owner & lead designer here at Laurel & Sage. 👋🏻 I never thought I’d be a florist (a story for another time), but I’m so glad I ended up here and get to do this as my job!

Outside of work, I’m a wife to Jonathan, a super smart neuroscience professor at UAB who I met in high school Physics🧑🏼‍🔬 We’ve lived in Bham for 7 years in a tiny craftsman we’ve made our own with our pup Shadrach & cat Basil, and this past summer we welcomed our sweet daughter Eleanor into the mix! She has been such a joy and a light in our life☀️

When I’m not arms-deep in a bucket of flowers or sitting in front of the computer writing proposals/answering emails, I’m home playing with Eleanor, walking around the Botanical Gardens with Jonathan, or finding a new place to grab fancy coffee in Bham. ☕️

My favorite part of a wedding day is when I get to hide away during the ceremony waiting to flip a space, listening to the couple share their vows, often looking across to my husband thinking back to our own wedding day. There’s nothing more sacred or a more pure glimpse of heaven to me! My favorite aspects of my job are the problem-solving and logistics planning that happens long before wedding week (spreadsheets for life), and pulling together a new and fun combination of ingredients each time I order flowers! My favorite thing to actually create varies, but I often love the challenge of a large install and the detail of a compote centerpiece! 🌷

These last 7 years of flowering have brought over 150 weddings and events, filled with so many gorgeous and colorful blooms for the sweetest couples + most fun companies! Just for fun, I did some math…in 7 years, we’ve made roughly 700 bouquets, 1,400 boutonnieres + corsages, 170 dramatic floral installs, 805 floral centerpieces, decorated 91 cakes…all together likely over 100,000 beautiful blooms that have come through our studio! 🤯

I’m so thankful for all of you who have entrusted me with your celebrations, and I can’t wait for more to come this year! 💕

Devyn & Kyle’s fall day was the perfect day for a wedding, and I loved all the texture and local blooms woven through these centerpieces! The orange cosmos, marigolds, zinnias, bittersweet berries, and dahlias were to die for! 🍂
