Trust me, I did not wake up like this lol 😭 I am jet-lagged, haven’t slept in three days and completely dysfunctional, but somehow pulled it together for a very exciting shoot yesterday 🤗 My professional advice if you have an important photo shoot? ✨Chose a complimentary color near your face! Black, white and neutrals can really wash you out in photos. ✨Select a top that has a more open neckline. When in doubt, a v-neckline is always complimentary as it creates dimension and shape to your figure versus a high neckline which can make you appear wider in photos. A v-neckline also draws attention towards the face. ✨Show off your waistline! This will give you a more flattering shape. Baggy clothes or loose fitting items add weight and bulk. ✨Professional hair & makeup! DUH 🙄😂 Every day makeup isn’t enough for a photo shoot. Your features get lost, so you need more than you usually would. It will look like more in person, but trust me, in photos you need extra glam. After all, your beautiful face is in every photo! ✨Here’s Exactly How to Get the Most Out of Your Bridal Trial ✨ 1) Look for inspiration photos that resemble your features. If you have hooded eyes and select makeup inspiration of all large, round eye shapes, keep in mind, these looks won’t look the same on your features 👁️ 2) Your trials are so you can TRY things. Not like all 57 pins on your mood board, haha but this is so you can see if what you want, looks the way you think it will. It’s ok if you change your mind. Sometimes things don’t look the way we thought it would, and that’s where our team can advise you on how to achieve the look you want but suited to your skin tone, face shape, and hair texture. 🦋 3) FOLLOW DIRECTIONS. Often times at your trials, our team will instruct on how to prepare for your wedding day to get the best results. For example, maybe you need more layers in your hair for the style you want or perhaps you need to start prepping your skin differently, so your makeup application is smoother. It’s ok if you decide not to follow our advise, but just remember you may not get the results you want. 🫶🏽 4) OPEN COMMUNICATION! This is the most important part of your trial. Speak openly about what you like and don’t like. Tell us your own challenges with your hair…does it hold curl? with your skin…do you have allergies? with your makeup…do your eyes water? If you don’t tell us, we don’t know! I wanted @nluparr skin to be radiant & ethereal ✨ It may add an additional 10-15 minutes for a session, but the better the skin prep, the less makeup you will need. Exfoliation + the right amount of hydration are key. ✨Makeup artists 🎨 love making clients happy & gorgeous, but let’s get REAL for a sec… 1. I wish I was the glass skin fairy and could give everyone perfect, dewy soft-as-a-baby’s tush skin but in one makeup session, that is challenging especially if you are not taking care of your skin properly ✨ The step I see clients skipping the most is exfoliating, and if you aren’t exfoliating, have skin with dry patches & texture, your makeup artist is not being set up for success ✨Dry flaky, patchy skin = cakey makeup not glass skin. 2. We love receiving make up inspiration photos, but make up inspiration photos are just that….INSPIRATION ✨ Most of the time I receive photos that are professional photos taken by professional photographers with professional models or celebrities with perfect lighting, airbrushing , photo shop, and filters ✨This gives clients an unrealistic view of what a make up artist can actually do. Your facial features, skin tone & texture, and bone structure could be completely different than the inspiration photo ✨ Inspiration gives us a starting point, so we can see what kind of make up you like, but it’s never going to look exactly like the photo. 3. When you are moving your face and not sitting still, this slows us down ✨ If you’re not in a rush, and you really need to do one or more of these, just hope your artist doesn’t charge by the hour. Lol 😂 4. No makeup is completely creaseless, and if it says it is, it’s a lie that beauty brands tell you to sell stuff ✨ Unless you plan on not moving your face all day, talking, blinking, breathing, etc it’s going to crease. Just gently pat over to smooth out. 5. We wish we could, but we can’t read minds! 🔮 Speak up if you don’t like something. We want you to love your makeup, and most artists genuinely want you to tell them (if you don’t like, just be respectful of course!) ✨In the end, we want to make you happy so open communication is key. #tere

Here are ✨MY TOP TIPS ✨for Flawless Red Lips 💄 ✨Lips should be smooth & exfoliated for lips to hold color. I like to apply lip balm & let it marinate while I do the rest of my makeup. ✨Blot off excess balm. Use leftover foundation from sponge to cover lips. ✨Line lips carefully not overdrawing too much. Red can be very temperamental. I only overdraw at the cupids bow for added fullness. ✨Emphasize cupids bow & bottom center of lip line with slightly darker pencil. ✨Buff out line with lip brush. This will soften edges as well as provide a long-lasting base. ✨Buff out lip color with lip brush. Using a brush enhances precision & longevity because you can really saturate the lips evenly. ✨Clean up lines with a flat brush, using a matte concealer and a little powder, especially under the bottom lip line. ✨If you apply gloss, gently apply to only the center of lips. ✨Most importantly, DO NOT lick or rub your lips together. If you can resist the urge, your lip color will last much longer. Rubbing or pressing your lips together will cause the color to bleed & mess up your clean lines. Licking lips will actually dry your lips out & breakdown your products faster. This tip seems so silly, but it makes all the difference 💋 Resist the urge!
