Here is how we put flowers in our balloon garlands and more…….If you are new in this industry like we were a few months ago you must read, and saved this post… You got this!!!
Here we go….
Materials you’ll need
- Masking tape (I’ll explain later why you need it)
- Rubber bands
- Off course an artificial flower
Instructions
- First you are going to grab the tape and going to cut a piece to cover the stem point of the flower to prevent the balloon to pop with the sharp point of the flower (this is the reason you’ll need the masking tape) we love the masking tape is such a versatile and key tool in this industry
- Second you’ll need to make a knot with the rubber band around the stem of the flower.
With this step done you go ahead and stretch the rubber band around a balloon, find a place where you want to put the flower and just hide the stem inside the balloon garland.
That’s all, easy right!!!

So yes you read it right !! You see the final result and its beautiful, but what you don’t see is the struggle the overwhelming feeling when you are setting up and unexpected weather that you can’t control come and almost knocking out your whole balloon arrangement, it was so hard, the wind was blowing super strong, that it was moving the balloons away from the backdrop. We were in a park so I had to come up with a rapid solution so I put a small garbage can behind the large garland and a cooler behind the ones in the right side and thank God it worked out perfectly.
Another thing that happened was a lot of people setting up decorations around the pavilion so at some point when I was recording they unintentionally moved my phone and you can see in the video that is not focusing all of my entire set up, and I realized it when I got home and watched the video 😳. I wasn’t going to post it but here I am explaining how things can change quick and not be how we plan.
I’m going to share some points that it helped me overcome this situation.
• A lot of praying(I believe in the power of prayer and trusting God) that was my first resource
• Be creative and resourceful: sometimes you just have to look around and find what ever can help to achieve what are you trying to finish
• Ask for help: I know I know you as an event planner you don’t want to ask your customer or other vendors around you for help, but sometimes they are in the same spot as you, be humble and ask you might be surprise and how helpful they can be or even they can come out with great ideas to help you resolve. And please if you see another vendor or even your customer struggling with something just ask them if they need help that’s being human and caring for others needs, it’s not a weakness.
• Come prepared mentally, physically and with the right tools to be ready for any challenge.
