The Heart feels like it is pounding to the drum loop of around 130 beats per minute, the body moves in time with the 4/4 rhythmic component as the electronically synthesized bass, snare and hi hat resonates, not just through your own body but through the entire venue. The energy is palpable and passes through the crowd almost like electricity jumping from atom to atom, the bodies shuffle and sway as though they were conjoined by one Muse. In this moment we are connecting the dots; we are one; we are Excess – The Movement. Connecting the dots, we are 1. That is what Excess stands for, uniting people through underground music and parties. Rave, enjoy, connect and be kind. Forget about moderation and live life to the fullest: Excess. Excess The Movement is a monthly underground party at Sugarfactory, Amsterdam. Started at the beach of The Hague, the movement found its way to Amsterdam in February 2014 and had several sold out editions since then. The unique ambiance at Excess parties originates from the slogan 'We Are One'. Every person and every element on the dancefloor is united by the power of melodic progressive techno music. Over the last year artists as Enrico Sangiuliano, 2000 And One, Ramiro Lopez, Spartaque, Matt Sassari, Da Fresh, Mark Reeve, Mark Greene, Dexon, Alex Mine, Rob Hes, The Yellowheads and Drumcomplex have performed at Excess, besides residents Jayzo and Zett Feral. Besides booking settled and upcoming names, Excess has a talent pool where it gives new dj talents the opportunity to grow. Besides Sugarfactory Amsterdam, Excess parties can be found in The Hague, Scheveningen beach, Groningen (The Netherlands), Sofia (Bulgaria) and Barcelona (Spain). Excess also takes part in the world's leading dance music conferences, with parties during Amsterdam Dance Event and Off Week Barcelona (2015).
