Tonight is the big night! We are so excited to get a full musical journey. He is bringing his Deep Space party to Portland for an open to close set. This is a chance for him to explore the deeper side of future dub with spacey vibes and abstract grooves. He will be using his special stems approach to the night that gives him the opportunity for full creative exploration. It is sure to be an amazing experience and one to remember. He may have just turned 70 but he continues to push the needle with regard to technology as he finds new ways to connect with his audiences. Whether you’ve seen him over the years or never had the pleasure, don’t miss out on tonight’s event.

Among the many things that has done in the music industry, one of the most special is his work being A&R for the Prelude Records label. For ten years, from 1976 to 1986, Prelude was one of the premiere independent record labels in New York City specializing in Disco and Funk. Even as Disco declined, Prelude continued to be vital to the music scene. François’ was able to focus on remixes that helped solidify Prelude’s place in music history. This is over 7 hours of François playing music from the label, talking about its history, and bringing on some special guests, too. This is a great listen and well worth the time commitment to learn about a speical piece of music history.

We hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season and ready for a great new year. Be sure to grab your tickets to see François K at The Den Portland on February 2nd. We’ve extended our early bird pricing through the end of the year and removed any ticket limits so as many people who want can take advantage of the early bird pricing can do so. Ticket prices will go up in just a few days. This is going to be an amazing experience and we want as many of you to be there as possible.

This is Portland’s chance to experience legendary DJ François K work his magic exploring the deeper side of future dub with spacey vibes and abstract grooves. **UPDATE**
I’m so very disappointed to announce that we’ve had to postpone this event. Oregon has implemented a mask mandate for all individuals indoors regardless of vaccination status. In the end I felt that this would hurt our chances of this event being as special as it can and should be. If you have purchased tickets, a message will be coming about refunds. We will reschedule this event as soon as there is a clearer picture of Covid challenges and when mask mandates have been lifted. Thank you for understanding this very difficult decision.
