🍂 HAPPY ALF WEEK 🍂

I’m excited to be setting up for Crafter’s Day on Friday, October 6th from 8am-5pm. My booth space is located in front of the empty lot (the old Bobs Subs) on 5th & Main.

As many of you know, the “bulk” of my business is weddings. I still love being a part of the community who gave me the courage to continue with this passion of mine. However, my priority has moved to my sweet brides and creating the perfect pieces for their weddings. September & October are busyyyy wedding months. That means this leaves little time for crafting home decor for Autumn Leaf. 😔

I still have been working my tail off to make lovely, unique pieces for the event, but I am only one woman. In the past, I’ve had PLENTY of inventory to last the entire day… I’m not sure if that will be the case this year. I say this to give you a heads up that if you are a lover of my wood flowers for yourself or to gift, I highly suggest stopping at my booth first.😊

I’m looking forward to interacting with you all, so at least stop by to say “Hello!” 💕

“Inflation limits the purchasing power of small businesses, forcing them to raise the prices of their products and absorb losses in their profits…”

These posts are never fun to write & like any other small business owner, we feel the need to have to explain why our prices are increasing.

Pictured is one small example in my personal business — Hobby Lobby. One of my supplier for greenery & filler. 😵‍💫🫠 Not only has the company dropped from 50% sales to 40%, but the overall prices of items has gone stupid high. I’m seeing this across the board with EVERY aspect of my business - greenery, stems, ribbon, boxes, boutineer pins, wrist corsage bracelets, lumber, nails, hot glue sticks… the list goes on & on. 😱

While I try to do my very best at keeping prices affordable for every one, at some point, my prices need to increase slightly or I’ll be working for free.

The Rustic Twist is my only source of income! It’s my passion, my love & my desire to continue to produce the highest quality in the wood flower industry.

You may have noticed that your bridal order is packaged in an Amazon box or your custom order is now picked up “un-bagged”… these are minor helps in keeping business costs down to keep prices down. But with inflation getting ridiculous, please note that certain items will be increasing.

I refuse to skimp on the high quality products I use that results in the most stunning wedding pictures & beautiful pieces to display in your home. 🤩

I appreciate each & every one of you who has (and continues) to support my small business!

So fun little back story with this beautiful bride — I was Hannah’s 5th & 6th grade math teacher! (That’s right, I once upon a time had a “real job” 😛🤭) She was my “first class” and I adored those students with all my heart! The beauty of social media is that I’ve been able to keep up with lives and watch as they grow and thrive as adults using their God given talents. So when Hannah reached out to have me create her wedding florals, I burst into tears! I was overwhelmed with joy that our paths would cross once again. 🤗
Doing our consultation brought an explainable giddy across my face as I chatted with an all grown up Hannah who still possessed the same contagious smile, fair skin, blonde hair and loving personality. 🥹
This business has been more than an “income” to me. It’s a chance to express my creativity and passion and reconnect with some of my favorite people!

Today I attended the Clarion Area Elementary Career Day & got to share my passion for Wood Flowers with 4th, 5th & 6th graders. The students came in groups of 3 and were able to ask all kinds of questions about the business. It was great to see Veterinarians, Engineers, Doctors, College Coaches, Mechanics, Loggers, Medical Professionals, Teachers & more take the time to pour into the future!

My favorite part was boys stopping by and thinking “ew, girly stuff!” and end up being so intrigued by the wood flowers. They had THE BEST questions to ask! 🥰

⛄️ SNOWMAN STACKS
This class brings a modern twist on a universally loved winter piece - the snowman! You’ll have the option of 3-8 blocks, personalized however you wish! Think kids’ names, teacher’s class/grade, grandchildren, cute wintery saying, oh the possibilities are endless. There’s several cute snowman faces to choose from. The base will be decorated with winter greens & of course, wood flowers!

🚻 FAMILY NAME CIRCLE
This class is for the everyday decor lovers out there! You’ll have the option to stain or paint your wood circle as well as personalize it however you wish - family name, teachers name, couples initials, giant monogrammed letter, nursery decor, etc. For this class, only the classic ivory & wood flowers plus lots of lush greenery will be available. This gives a timeless look to match any home decor!
