It’s tuberose time! Not just a pretty face; tuberose is known for its rich fragrance, often used in high-end perfumes. This bloom has a scent like no other, with creamy floral notes that are both sweet and heady.

What makes tuberose even more special is how it releases most of its fragrance at dusk. They evolved this trait in order to attract their best pollinators: moths. Every evening, right around prime time, you’ll notice the air become even more fragrant as these beauties work their magic.

Tuberose are a mid to late summer bloomer that can be challenging to grow some years, and production can be inconsistent. Many thanks to for nailing it!

As summer begins its steady wind down, the light starts to shift, casting a softer, golden hue on everything it touches. We’re not quite into fall yet, but there’s a whisper of change in the air. We’re feeling rested, rejuvenated, and ready to create some gorgeous arrangements for you! We’ll have lots of fresh, locally grown blooms in the shop this week that we are so excited to share with you. It’s Lisianthus season!! Lisianthus is an amazing, elegant, long-lasting bloom. Although it’s available as an import year-round, we only really use it when it’s in season locally, as the quality is leagues above what is available to be shipped in.

And while Lisianthus is not a fragrant flower, it’s also the best time of year for locally grown fragrant foliages! We will have two of my all-time favorites in the shop this week: rose scented geranium and lemon basil. The geranium scent is intoxicating and peaceful while the lemon basil smells like candy and fun.

One of my absolute favorite memories as a flower grower was curating "Farmer's Choice" buckets for our florist customers. Handpicking the freshest blooms and introducing everyone to the season's newest varieties brought me so much joy. Now, as a florist, receiving a "Farmer's Choice" bucket is one of the best parts of local flower season! The anticipation of discovering what beautiful surprises the bucket will hold is a highlight of my week. When our growers share what they're most excited and proud about, we can't help but be most excited too! Check out the stunning varieties we received this week from Jenny at Bloom Box Botanicals.

GREAT news!! We're back up on Google! Our appeal was successful and our business page is back. Such a relief!

We need your help! Our hearts are heavy as we share some unexpected news. After over 12 wonderful years of serving our community with love and dedication, Google has deactivated our florist business profile. 😢 It is an algorithm glitch happening to many small businesses right now. This means that, just two weeks before Mother's Day, one of the most important times for our business, we've become unfindable on Google.

We're devastated to think that we might not be easily found by those looking to celebrate and honor their mothers with beautiful blooms from our shop. Our 100+ reviews, built over years of hard work and genuine connection with each of you, seem to have disappeared overnight.
Amidst this challenging situation, we're turning to you, our loyal supporters and friends, for help. We know the power of community, and we believe that together, we can overcome this (enormous) obstacle.

The request for these arrangements mentioned, "It may be interesting to use a cabbage flower or artichoke or some type of veggie item in the arrangement." -- Don't threaten me with a good theme! Veggies all the way! Just dropped a bunch of these freakin' adorable flower and vegetable cocktail arrangements for an event focused on the future of nutritional food.

Featured vegetables: curly kale, radishes, golden beets, asparagus, sweet peppers, kumquats (ok that's a fruit), and the CUTEST EVER mini bok choi.

Happy first day of Spring!! I personally believe today should be an official holiday; celebrated by long walks outside, eating food on a patio, and sharing gifts of spring flowers and garden tools. It’s a beautiful day here in St. Louis, hopefully you find some time during the 12(!) hours of daylight to go enjoy it!

We are just a few days out from the vernal equinox, the official start of spring. But we don't need a calendar to know that around here -- we know spring is right around the corner when we start seeing some of our favorite spring botanicals back on the availability lists.

These delicate wonders are here for a good time, not a long time, reminding us to pause and cherish the moments that pass so quickly. Every spring, we're fortunate to source an array of unique flower varieties, but their ephemeral presence is a gentle nudge to appreciate their individual charm.

As I immerse myself in arranging these blooms, I'm captivated by their intricate details; their unique textures and vibrant hues, knowing that their beauty is a transient gift. It's a reminder that life, like these flowers, unfolds with its own rhythm, urging us to slow down and embrace the uniqueness of each passing moment.

In a world that often feels fast-paced, these limited-time wonders become my teachers of patience and presence. Their brief appearance encourages me to look beyond the surface and truly see the magic in every petal. So here's to savoring the subtle dance of nature, to celebrating the artistry of impermanence, and finding joy in the temporary splendor that graces our lives.

Wow! It sure has been busy days around here! We are so, so grateful for all of your Valentine’s Day orders. It is an honor to be trusted to create a symbol of your love.

Those of you who came by to pick up your arrangements have already gotten to see the new digs, and now we are finally ready to show it off to the world!

We moved from our Southampton location to our new building in Dutchtown waaaaaay back at the end of October. We’ve spent quite a bit of time sprucing up the exterior, and although it is still a work in progress, finishing the mural was the final piece before we felt “ready” to make an announcement.

Blue is a notoriously difficult color in floristry. Very few flowers are naturally blue, and those that are typically have short growing seasons, and/or can be quite expensive.

Another option for blue flowers is to paint or dye them — I’m sure you’ve all seen those electric blue spider mums and carnations in an ugly grocery store bouquet.

Well, science has changed the game. Check out these amazing BluOcean mums, just introduced this past September! I was told they used pansy genetics to achieve this color, but after a little research I learned that they actually used two genes - one from Campanula medium and one from the butterfly pea to achieve these amazing colors.

Having blue flowers that are not dyed and that are available at a more modest price point, year round, is a game changer! But I will admit, after years of conditioning of thinking that blue flowers that look like this were made that way after harvest with dye, it was a little hard at first to change my perception of them. What do you think? Love them? Hate them? Don’t know until you see them in person? We’d love to hear your opinions!
