League Rules, Please Read:
First and Foremost, remember why you're here. And why we are here. If it's not to hang out with friends and family while supporting our WNY bars and restaurants, please go play a different bar trivia game. We will NOT tolerate indecent behavior including bullying, cheating, or whining. Playing DJ Trivia is not a right, it is a privilege. If an establishment has an issue with you, so do we and your team will be asked to leave without notice or warnings. DJ Trivia WNY and its ownership expect you to play nice with others and take care of the wait staff and our local venues by treating them as you would your own. Message us directly if you feel you need more clarification.
Now the technical rules:
1. Your team must use the exact same team name during the entire league period to qualify.
2. A single weekday, at a single location, played once per week, qualifies as a League Location - This is your "Home" location. If you play at the same location more than once per week, only one weekday will be considered your "Home" league standings.
3. Play More, Earn More! Additional games played on other weekdays may accumulate Bonus Points! It's simple: At the END of each additional game you play during the week, you may ask your DJ Trivia host for a Bonus Point card to take back to your "Home" location. You and your team are responsible for acquiring and turning in all bonus points from your DJ Trivia host at each location played. Bonus points shall only count toward league standings at your "Home" League Location and shall not count toward daily game standings. Bonus Points will be entered after the daily game has concluded. Maximum Bonus Points redeemed at your Home location may not exceed 100 points per week.
4. A team must complete a minimum of ten league weeks at their Home League Location to qualify for league play- off status.
5. If you or your team plays on multiple weekdays, you may only qualify at a single League Location.
6. If your team fails to qualify for league play-off game(s) at your Home League Location but does accumulate enough league points at another League Location, you may still qualify for play-offs.
7. At the end of 20 weeks, we will tally each team's TOP 14 League Location Scores. Again, the TOP 14 scores (out of 20 weeks) are the ones that will be tallied for your season total. This will be the score used for play-off qualification.
8. The maximum number of teams to be sent to a play-off from each League Location will be determined by DJTrivia WNY. (Will be 3 or 4, TBD by overall league attendance)
9. DJ Trivia tracks how many players are on each team during every game. The number of players allowed on each team for play-off and championship games will be calculated by averaging the number of players that were part of your team during the current league period. If your team normally has, for example... 4 players during the league you will not be allowed to bring more than 4 to the play- off and Championship. Recruiting other players from other teams who didn't make it to the next level or recruiting extra players for play-off gain will not be allowed and will get your team DQ'd.
10. DJ Trivia, its partners, affiliates, and locations, are not responsible for irretrievable scores, attendance, or other data.
11. DJ Trivia, its partners, affiliates, and locations, are not responsible for venue changes, or closed locations. Upon request, and if available, we will do our best to move your league data to a new League Location.
12. Electronic devices, books, study materials, or outside help is NOT allowed, period. If any of these items can be viewed by us, including sitting near you, this will be cause for disqualification without warning. In other words, If we catch even a glimpse of any of these items during play- offs, or championship games, your team will be eliminated and disqualified. Again, do NOT bring any notes!
13. DJ Trivia reserves the right to change league rules without notice.
Bonus Points Described As outlined above, every team must claim a "HOME" League Location. We are going to describe two scenarios in which teams may accumulate bonus points by playing DJ Trivia up to three times per week.
1. If you travel to play DJ Trivia at another (Not your "HOME") location in the same week (2 nights of DJ Trivia fun) you can see your DJ Trivia host at the "guest" location for a "25 bonus point" card to take back to your "home" location the next week.
2, From time to time, we may also offer special bonus offers at select locations that may be applied. You may only turn in a maximum of 100 league bonus points per week at your home location. Bonus points only accrue toward league standings, they are not valid daily game standings, and will be entered after the daily game is finalized.
Sending a single team member out each night just to collect a bonus card at the end of the game will not be tolerated anymore. We can prorate bonus points if we feel it necessary. Anyone searching for loopholes to our rules and guidelines to gain an advantage should think twice before stepping out the door to come Play. We reserve the right to remove players and teams without warnings or notice.
