Sunday, August 2nd, 2015 - The hilarious Sunday Night Hootenanny CEILIDH with Gary Chipman & Friends is back THIS SUNDAY for another edition at the Brackley Beach Community Centre. What a variety show! Music will range from Stompin' Tom, Gene MacLellan, and Hank Williams right to Elvis & Jerry Lee Lewis! These guys will have you dancing in your seats and non-stop laughs all night long! Music by Island Musicians & Friends: Gary Chipman, Niall MacKay, Doug MacEwen, Billy Roy Murnaghan & Heartz Godkin. Trivia : Did you know that the musicians on stage formed the 1st rock & roll band on PEI called The Tremtones?
We can't have a CEILIDH without a step dancer and wait until you see ours! Jordan Chowen's feet fly when he dances and expect to be wowed by his foot work! Jordan will also play the bagpipes outside for the crowd before the show starts - Did you know that he placed 9th in the world last year in bagpipe competition? What a talented guy!
Oh, and we can't forget the first class fiddling by Gary Chipman with his unique Don Messer/Down East Style of Fiddling. Gary Chipman started playing the fiddle at 8 years old and started on the Don Messer Live Shows and his accomplished career includes touring with Stompin' Tom Connors and Anna McGoldrick - his fiddling is top notch and his version of The Orange Blossom Special will have your hands a clappin' and toes a tappin'!
