SWING INN TIME - please come to this Festival of Small Halls performance coming up on Monday, June 17th, 7:30 pm in our Community Centre.

Performers include The Vaudevillian and Inn Echo.

Making their Small Halls debut is the captivating duo ‘The Vaudevillian’ that will take you to the days of Hokum, Ragtime and the Dirty 30s with their prohibitions songs. Having played all over USA, Europe and Canada, Jitterbug James and Norah Spades keep the tunes comin’ on their washboard, resonator guitar, banjo and musical spoons, to name a few.

Sharing the bill is PEI’s premiere trad-trio with a contemporary current. From BC, Ontario and Montana, the trio met here on the Island studying musical and have since gone on to dazzle audiences from Australia to Europe to the West Coast of Canada, picking up numerous awards and nominations along the way. It’s the Vaudevillan and Inn Echo in Brackley Beach.

Tickets are $30, and are available from smallhalls.com.

Thanks to the members of the New Glasgow Fire Department for all you do to keep our communities safe and protected. We appreciate the hours you spend in training and the significant efforts you make in responding to fire and health emergencies. The Brackley Beach Women's Institute hosted a dinner to thank the New Glasgow firemen, their families, and the men of Brackley Beach for all they do in support of our community.

THANK YOU to the men and women of Brackley Beach who prepared and served the Pancake Breakfast today! Everyone was up early on this beautiful morning and ready to greet our guests. These few photos tell part of the story-many people were involved in getting the Brackley Beach Community Centre ready and the fresh flowers on the tables were from the beautiful gardens of Val Moucha.

THANK YOU to everyone who came out and supported our event. It was so great to see you enjoying the meal and visiting with friends and family. The funds raised will help with maintenance costs of our building.

The Brackley Beach Women's Institute is celebrating PEI's 150th anniversary of joining Confederation and we had this special display of PEI items, arranged by Dorothy Clerk - take a look at the photo and see the great variety. Our WI donated $150 to the QEH Foundation Big Day of Giving Campaign - money we raised by making apple pies. This year the PEI flag is proudly flying outside the Community Centre and will be seen by Islanders and visitors who travel.

Thanks again to everyone!
