Sunday morning with the wildflowers.

The wetlands are filled with the delicate weavings from thousands of spiders this morning. I like to think of them busy at their work in the dark. I'm sure they don't tire or ruminate on shape or form or whether they'll eat or be eaten. Their work illuminated by the sun shining through the dew draped upon them like jewels and stacked up on each other by the hundreds. They just make and sit and wait. 🖤

An ode to my love of all plants artemisia, especially one of my absolute favorites, Artemisia Tridentata. There’s just nothing like being surrounded by its powerful scent in the scrublands.

I never really thought about creating art with flowers until Pinto died. I remember vividly haunting the house missing every small sound of hers with every fiber of my being when a knock came at our door. Lockdown had just begun but some friends had driven some flowers from the grocery store to us with a simple note that said “We Love You.”

It helped somehow. I can’t actually say how, but it did and I knew I just wanted to be with flowers from then on.

Several years later and I always feel a special kind of joy and sorrow when I can make an arrangement for someone who has lost their beloved companion. 🖤

I love using these little beauties in arrangements. An early wildflower in my opinion, Purple Dead nettle always reminds me of the henbit that used to grow in our yard in Texas. Growing up my sister and I would munch on it much to our mother's horror 😅.

Finally got my incense labels! This lovely foraged forest incense is available on Faire now!

Snow day here, so I'm coming up with projects to keep myself busy. I already cleaned the kitchen, shoveled the sidewalk and sharpened my shears! Perhaps it's nap time now though before I tackle the sewing project.
