Our name, SoHum, originates from Sanskrit and literally means “I am,” signifying the identification of oneself with the universe or ultimate reality. As we meditate upon this, we come to the realization that we are all interconnected, stemming from one Infinite Source. We are all connected to the universal energy that consistently supports and nourishes us in the ways we need and desire. A few minutes of meditation with this transformative mantra can bring calmness and positivity both within and around us. Our vision aligns with the powerful mantra “SoHum” and is intended to engage people worldwide in conversations and experiences consistent with this purpose.

Sohum takes great pride in demonstrating that love and the promotion of peace are possible regardless of challenging circumstances. Even in the face of adversity, we can all contribute to healing and fostering peace. Our first-ever project aimed to unite diverse groups, particularly America-Iranians in the DMV area, sparking a movement to cultivate inner peace for a more harmonious world.
The love and support we received were beyond measure and truly invaluable.
We’ve already acknowledged some of those who contributed, and here are the others we’d like to recognize.
We extend our special thanks to Mehdi Bemani an organizer whose professional photography and videography elevated the quality of our event to a remarkable level. Amen Ashabi, a dedicated manager and organizer,devoted her time and energy with love and meticulous attention to every detail, ensuring that everyone benefited from the results. Parinaz not only managed the sound and music but also took on additional responsibilities as a social media promoter. Zahra’s passion shone through in her poster design for the Sohum event, captivating our minds with its beauty. Farzaneh beautifully designed the Sohum logo, encapsulating the essence of our goal and the profound meaning of unity.
We offer special thanks to Hedi, who made the journey all the way from Toronto to attend the event, touching our hearts with her dedication. Rozi made a significant contribution, spearheading the event and enchanting us with her Daf performance during the sound therapy session. Rota, Maddie, Zeinab, Fardad, Mohsen, Zohreh, Ray, Tirajeh, Cassandra,and the endless names of loved ones all played vital roles in enhancing the significance of this occasion.. We want to express our gratitude to everyone who trusted and supported us in this journey.

The Logo featuring the seven Sasanian* lotus symbols signifies the seven chakras, the energy points within our body. Like blooming lotuses, these chakras come alive with vibrant energy as we breathe in the life force of prana.
*The Sasanian lotus refers to a symbol or representation of a lotus flower associated with the Sasanian Empire, which was the last pre-Islamic Persian Empire. The lotus, a common motif in ancient Persian art, often symbolizes purity, beauty, and rebirth in various cultures.
