That's a wrap! What a year...
💡50 consecutive weeks of pub trivia, 12 customised private events, over 3500 questions written, more than 7000 questions asked, and $20,000 worth of prizes awarded.
💡BrisQuiz was a part of fund-raising efforts that generated an estimated $50,000 for charity and community groups, both locally and overseas.
💡We challenged well over 500 different players in our live quizzes, and who knows how many more through various online trivia offerings.

And with no further events scheduled for 2024, I think I'll have a little nap now!

Thanks to ALL of you BrisQuiz players, supporters, fans and followers. It is a wonderful thing to see regular faces come back week after week, and reassures me that all these efforts are indeed putting some good out into the world. I'll be enjoying a little break, and I might even actually turn on the out-of-office email for a few days in January! But my brain is always ticking away, and already the brainwaves are planning some exciting questions, formats, projects and possibilities for 2025. I hope you'll join me again next year.

𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲
Quick summary: Discussion has been opened with the new owner/operators of FairPlay Kitchen in the Sherwood Magpies clubhouse regarding a return of trivia to the venue in 2025. Due to some changes in the way the restaurant and the sports club interact, we've not been able to restart as quickly as expected. Whilst the new management haven't said no to the idea of restarting trivia, further meetings are needed to confirm a mutually-suitable arrangement that ensures the venue is appropriately staffed and is meeting their costs. Furthermore, under current plans, FairPlay Kitchen expects to operate Wednesday to Sunday in the new year, so if trivia did return, it would not be running on a Monday like it used to.

To those who've been waiting 9 months for your beloved trivia to return, I apologise for the delay in news. In order to help move forward on negotiations for trivia at the club in 2025, it would help to know how many of the "old regulars" are still looking at returning after all this time, and, of those, how many would be satisfied with a Wednesday night quiz, rather than Monday.

I suppose when you ask a broad range of trivia players for their suggestions on question topics, you should expect a broad response. But some of our BrisQuiz players have VERY niche interests, it seems. This week, we're gathering eight of the most curious submissions into our 'Requested by You" round at Carindale Hotel (Tuesday), The Kenmore Tavern (Thursday) and White Lies Brewing (also Thursday). Consider yourselves forewarned!

After raising US$4,500 for charity last year, the Trivia Advent-ure quiz calendar is returning 1 December 2025 with even higher hopes! The global quiz-writing community and the Trivia Writers Co-Operative have turned out in force for 2025, with so many volunteers contributing a quiz that there will be a 24-day advent countdown PLUS the 12 days of Christmas, with two quizzes to play every day! It's open to all for any donation (just remember that your contribution is in US dollars!). It's all for fun, but the quizzes WILL all be marked by hand and leaderboards posted for those who feel competitive. Look out for the BrisQuiz contribution "That's What She Said" on December 13 (or December 14 in aussietime).
