Hood Aliens: Lock Up Your Sisters
One chance is all it took 10+ years ago for Bay Area51 DJ’s Hood Aliens. Back then they went by Lock Up Your Sisters, and one shot at the legendary Kelly's Mission Rock in SF was all it took. That lead to an almost 2 year residency at the now defunct KMR as well as a residency at the local San Jose hipster party ‘Wasteland’ at the ripe age of 21!
"We Dj’ed house parties and sweaty warehouse/ garage parties for a solid two years before we got to play a club/rave. The friends we met were the same ones who drove an hour to SF every single time we played to bring the same sweaty vibes as the warehouse parties." They have played staple SF parties Popscene and Blowup. Also spinning at some of the top clubs in SF. Halcyon, and Temple are just some of the clubs they've played at. As well as a residency at popular SF after hours club The Endup for a couple of years.
“This was before all the social media marketing and branding that DJ’s now are focusing on from the start. We had a MySpace page (shoutout Tom) and that was about it,” said Albert. He is 1/2 of Hood Aliens.
