When Liquicity Events holds another DJ contest for their festival, you know who'll send in a mix 😉!
This time I've challenged myself to make a mix solely using tracks released on the Liquicity and Galacy labels. The result is a selection of both the deeper rolling liquid and the more happy and uplifting liquid sounds that we associate with Liquicity!

On the 25th of May, I will play for Kortsluiting at BAM! Festival in Hengelo. I'll be dropping the kinds of tunes that got me into drum & bass, so expect a set with many melodic elements and pop song bootlegs on the dancefloor spectrum! The festival is free and I'll be playing for 70 minutes starting at 21:00. After that you can enjoy even more drum & bass served by Kortsluiting

Hey folks! Small large update from my side:
May is going to be a busy month, with lots of stuff on the table 🤩!

🔹 Last week I had the opportunity to play at Champion Sound 👑 in Leiden via the DJ contest of

🔹 This weekend I'm invited by ⚡ to play on stream at 🎛!

🔹 Next weekend, the 11th of May, I'll attend the drum & bass get together 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 organized by and play on the livestream that is hosted.

🔹 The 25th of May I'll play with .dnb ⚡ at .hengelo 💥 in the town where I was born: Hengelo
It's an open and free festival and I'll play my set at 20:30. Expect a classic dancefloor & bootlegs set!

🔹 Finally, at the 31st I'll make my return to 📷 at .enschede in my home town Enschede with a deep selection of underground tracks!

I'm so grateful for all these opportunities!

I've recorded my opening liquid set at Kortsluiting and have been editing the recorded video!

For this set, I've curated a list of liquid drum & bass tracks with lush arps and soothing bass lines traversing both the deeper and soulful side of the liquid spectrum.

This has been quite a project. I recorded the set from three fixed angles using two phones and a GoPro. Besides that, some friends have also contributed with footage from within the crowd. Thanks to Sytse, Monika and Hermann.

I've actually done some video editing in the past, but since that was more than 10 years ago, I went ahead to try DaVinci Resolve for a change. I must say, I'm impressed by the feature set of the free tier. Especially the tools to perform color correction are amazing.

All my footage was way too blue, and these tools were able to reduce that quite intuitively (but I'm by no means a colorist ;) ). Sadly, the recording of the GoPro had oversaturated blues, making it impossible to properly correct for. I'm amazed though about what was possible with the footage from my Galaxy S8 and S22 phones.

Besides my usual liquid business, I've been diving into some deeper and underground sounds lately.
This mix has been some time in the making and I finally got around to get this mix to the hour mark.
As a matter of fact, a 20 minute section inside this mix was my submission for the Dublex DJ contest, which got me a spot on their line-up!
