Some changes are coming to RCP...
Over the past few months, a lot has changed in my wee world and my attention has been drawn to family, both blood and church. I believe at this part of RCP's journey, things will be slowing down. I will be honouring sessions that have already been booked plus any gift vouchers that have been purchased over the past few months.
Autumn Mini's will be releasing next week and Winter Mono Mini's will be released at the beginning of October. From mid-November, RCP will be closed until 2024.
If you would like to book your session in using a gift voucher, please contact me as soon as possible to ensure there is availability over the next few months.

My diary is now closed for Summer after the final date was snapped up last night. I am so grateful for each and every one of you who have booked with RCP so far this year.

Autumn Mini Session dates will be released next month, plus some more news on availability going forward.

A precious wee family ❤️

Yesterday I shared a little bit about myself, what I do and a few quirky things about me...

What I did share is my WHY. Why I became interested in photography. Why I started my own business. Why I’ve journeyed the path I am on now.

As long as I could remember, I always loved taking photos of absolutely anything (ask my cousin, he’ll tell you hilarious stories!) From what started as disposable cameras through primary school, to a “Barbie” camera that I brought on my holidays in 2001... until now, where I own my dream camera, Canon 5D MkIII.

Fast forward to 2012, when I took an art course so that I could get into university, at Lisburn SERC. I then went to Ulster University and got a degree in Photography in 2016, when I graduated.

But in the middle of that, I was hospitalised and then after 8 months of testing, I was told I had IBS. Not the worst thing to have but it’s certainly not pleasant (and thankfully it doesn’t bother me much now!) During those months I decided that I have been knocked off my feet before but it made me more determined to start my own business.

Fast forward to 2020. The year of Covid. Well...yes it has been a year to remember but my reasons are in a positive way. At the beginning of lockdown, a fella I grow up with was killed in an accident and left behind two beautiful girls, his wife and 3-week old baba. Matthew was a young Christian and left behind a great testimony in his faith. His funeral was broadcasted online for his wider friend circle to watch, due to restrictions, and I’ll never forget that day, not only for the loss of a life but the restoration of life in Christ - that was mine!

2020 has not been all roses and sunshine but it has given me hope. It has given me strength. It has helped me get through days like closing my business down and losing income. Disappointing clients and worrying about what RCP’s future is.

All I can say is this, “I remember God” in everything I do, and I pray for strength as we end 2020 soon and begin a new year with new challenges.

These kids would only smile IF I did a silly photo with them afterwards - I think both turned out pretty good, don't you? 😜

Throwback to the warmer weather at Lady Dixon Park with this gorgeous family, who are returning clients! That's the thing I love about photographing families, nothing compliments my wee business more than when someone returns!

RCP always strives to capture that special bond between new parents and their newborn! Every day, you are maybe thinking, “Oh, I must get a photo of all of us” and then a day goes by, then the next day, then the next. Until your baby is 3 months old, and you regret not getting that shot on the day you had said about it.

These memories are a blessing. A real treasure. When your baby turns 13, 18, 21, etc., you will look back and remember the time they had a newborn session with Rebekah Collins Photographer, and you can tell them about it.

I know the feeling when you get in front of a camera - it is SCARY! But I know for a fact how precious photographs like these are just that - PRECIOUS!

New babies, always one of my favourite outdoor sessions!

These can either be newborn-focused or family sessions and during the summer months, the best place for those sessions is out in the fresh air, wide-open spaces and amongst the flowers and trees!

I always try to get mummy and daddy on their own during a family photo session because it was generally their wedding about 5 years ago that they both had a professional photo taken of each other - it's always mum with kids or dad with kids, or close-up selfies. While all of those are still so, so precious (and I would encourage you to print those photos!), it will always be a photo you will look back on during your time with RCP and treasure that split-second of a photo. A photo of love!

Fearfully and wonderfully made

✨ These pictures by the collection never cease to amaze me. This is a photograph of a fetus at 11-12 weeks gestation. You can see the umbilical vessels and even the formation of the ribs. To think that we all started out like this is just incredible! Human nature is magical! ✨

𝙈𝙀𝙀𝙏 𝙔𝙊𝙐𝙍 𝙋𝙃𝙊𝙏𝙊𝙂𝙍𝘼𝙋𝙃𝙀𝙍
Hi, I'm Rebekah and a massive hello and thank-you to all the recent followers over the past few months!
RCP (aka Rebekah Collins Photographer) began in January 2014 and since then, I've dabbled in various types of photography such as product photography, wedding photography, pet photography, even birth photography.
What I love most is spending time with families, getting to know them, laughing with the kids and just having a great old chinwag with everyone. Nothing beats the stories that kids tell you, eh? 😂
Over the past two years, like every small business, there have been a lot more downs than ups. But, with things slowly getting back to normal, as Esther 4:14 says, my little photography business is ready "for such a time as this".
RCP provides outdoor family photography as well as maternity, newborn, nurturing and first year photo sessions. I also provide Family Films as part of my sessions.
