Today’s event was great, minus one incident. First thank you to the Castanea Township recreation committee for putting on a great event. Not an empty space there! There was an issue when 2 members of the Clinton county historical society decided to start up their train engine which was right behind us. It was very loud, no warnings. We had a Large crowd of customers in line. Many other vendors near by. And our daughter with a hearing issue. I want to apologize to anyone that may have heard the language that came from me. When I see my daughter in pain and misery from a very unnecessary loud noise without warnings, I got extremely upset. I’m still upset by it. And for those two members to tell me we shouldn’t have been there. This event was planned long before that train engine was placed there, the event committee did an amazing job, I’m sorry you didn’t have the common courtesy to either hold off or give a warning. I do not apologize to those 2 members, I’m a father and a husband first, my family means more than anything to me. I do apologize to those around us and to our customers for my language. I will be sending a letter to the historical society to express my concerns. I had many vendors thank me for speaking up. Again thank you to all involved in putting the event on and to all that attended!!

Tomorrow is the day! Gonna be a beautiful day, 30 plus vendors setting up, little bit of everything! Check out the train caboose that can be rented out for a stay, the model railroad club will have their display open and running! The Castanea township recreation Committee has all kinds of things going on. 9am-2pm. Just reminder we don’t have coffee for sale, and we are cash only. Thank you. Logan Avenue in castanea.

There is a reptile show at 10am at the Castanea fire company. Free to attend!!

Great stuff going on in Castanea Township this weekend! We’ll be setup from 9am-2 pm Saturday with a good size menu! And since we have pulled chicken on the menu, we will introduce our new sauce, Coop’s Buff A’ Que!!! I made a small batch to try out! It’s a play on our original sauce and buffalo sauce.

I do believe this is the complete menu for Saturday. We will be cash only. We have breakfast sandwiches we will be making, however we will not have coffee. sorry, we just don't have the equipment to vend coffee.

We’ll get a full menu for this Saturday posted soon. We’ve added a few things, smoked pulled chicken, and wraps choice of pulled pork or pulled chicken with cheese, bbq sauce, and coleslaw. We don’t do events very often, so if ya want to enjoy our bbq, come on out this Saturday! (Working on a Buffalo/bbq sauce to try as well!). We will be cash only Saturday.

Saturday July 19th for Castanea Day. Will we have Pulled Pork, sandwiches and of course BBQ NACHOS!! We're gonna rock the hot dog cart, so we'll have all beef hot dogs with standard toppings plus our own Texas Hot Dog Chili, Smoked Cheddar Sausages. We will have a limit supply of breakfast sandwiches, choice of bacon, egg, cheese or sausage, egg, cheese served on a martin potato roll. Opted to not do a chicken bbq, Citizens fire company is doing a fundraiser for a local group, and didn't want to step on their toes. Looking forward to seeing everyone!!

Who’d be up for a good old fashioned chicken bbq for Castanea community day? We haven’t done a chicken bbq in a very long time! Chicken leg quarter, smoked baked beans, potato salad maybe a dinner roll. Just a thought for now.

Saturday July 19th you will find us setup at the Castanea Day event. We will be setup at the historic train station complex located at 15 Logan Avenue. Menu isn't planned yet, but it will be simple but tasty. We'll have something for breakfast then a simple lunch menu. Come on out check out all the vendors and everything that's going on. After this event we will put together our labor day fundraiser. Thank you!

Our first fundraiser was a great success! I hope everyone that partook in our bbq enjoyed everything! First time doing a sale for cold bbq to reheat at home. Open to feedback on how the packaging was, and any suggested changes. We are looking to do another for Labor Day weekend. With a couple menu changes including a family sized bbq nacho kit! Again thank you all, Happy Independence Day!

Thank you to all of you that ordered bbq for our fundraiser for our son's school trip. I will be reaching out to those that ordered via facebook to just confirm your orders. Looking at possibly doing it again for labor day weekend with a possible couple additions. One of which being a family size bbq nacho bundle!! Still in the works though!! Greatly appreciate the turn out we got on this one, always amazes me!!

I will be smoking up some Pork Butts this weekend, if anyone wants some pulled pork for memorial day, let me know. Easy to reheat. $11 a pound.
