Due to an overflowing schedule, I won't be hosting anymore technical (or other) DJ workshops this year. Of course, you can show up at any of my scheduled events and pick my brain there.

When your tanda finishes and most of the DJs present gather at your desk, you have done either a very bad or a very good job. But when most of the DJs present AND some dancers gather at your desk, you've done a good job. And that's what happened Sunday evening after the final vals tanda.

It's Monday and I feel like Janus: Looking to the past and looking to the future. Last weekend was a great weekend at Autumn Embrace with great dancers who also happen to be lovely people from all over the world. Next weekend is our own little event in Amersfoort with a great selection of DJs, and wonderful people who also happen to be incredible dancers.

Yesterday was the (more than) successful premiere of Por Una Cabeza - in attendance were almost 50 cast members, crowdfunders and special invitees from 5 different countries. DJ Prinz kept the milonga going for 3.5 hours and realised a great "living room milonga" feel.

This marks the end of a really great story that started somewhere early last year with me thinking "How hard can it be" and then finding out exactly how hard it can be. It took 18 months from conception to premiere and me wearing a lot of different hats - writer, gaffer, lighter, director, cameraman, editor, caterer, soundtrack director, arranger, post-producer, colour grader, publicist, producer, art director and many more.

I want to think Maria for believing in me, being my greatest critic and also my greatest fan - she is the reason the film came out as good as it did. She is the best executive producer I could have imagined for this project.

I want to thank the entire cast for believing in me and making the 2 days of shooting so memorable and so easy. You were all great to work with and stars in your own right. I want to especially thank Jan Hongenaert, Isabelle Beun, Katrien Wijns and DJ Prinz for starring in my dream project.

I want to thank all of the crowdfunders that put their money where my mouth was and helped me realise this project. I could not have done it without your help or faith.

There will be no public streaming of the short film for at least the foreseeable future. But - if you would like to show the short film at your milonga or event, we can work something out. Please get in touch with me and let's make sure this little gem gets out to more people.
