Just a little update on the current Quiz schedule...

All quizzes start at 8:30pm sharp.

Quizzes happen every week on Mondays at Telford’s Warehouse, Chester and Tuesdays at the Bawn Lodge Bar, Hoole.

Slight change of plan... We've had to push the first quiz of the year at the Faulkner back one week. So I'll now be hosting the Big Fat Quiz Of The Year next Wednesday, 15th January instead of the 8th.

Quizzes happen pretty much every week...

Unless I post on the socials to say otherwise, the b Square Quiz happens each and every Monday at Telford's Warehouse and every Tuesday at Bawn Lodge / Lodge Bar starting 8:30pm.

It's always a good idea to pre-book a table with the venue (I can't do that for you sorry) because there are usually no free tables on the night!

Bring a quid, bring your friends and leave those phones alone :)

This week's Quizzes are the final ones of 2023.

I'll then be taking 2 weeks off and will return in January on Monday 8th (at Telford's Warehouse ) and Tuesday 9th (at Bawn Lodge / Lodge Bar, Hoole) for the Quiz Of The Year.

This is usually the post where I remind you that Roll & Write Games Night is happening this Wednesday…

Unfortunately this is actually a post to say that - for a combination of reasons - Roll & Write Games Night is now on hiatus and therefore won’t be going ahead tomorrow night as planned.

If you’ve already made special arrangements so that you could join us tomorrow, then please accept my sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Thank you to everyone that came along to these events; I’ve made some new friends along the way and I’m glad to have been able to introduce some of you to these brilliant board games.

I hope that come the new year I’ll be ready to return to Telford's Warehouse with more roll & write games, I’ll keep you posted.

It's nearly time for another Roll & Write Games Night - the board game event where every turn, is your turn!

This Wednesday, 4th October at Telford's Warehouse

This month we're returning to one of our faves - Railroad Ink...

We’ll roll the dice and then draw routes on the board to create transport lines and connect the exits around the edge. The more exits you connect, the more points you score.

Well behaved tweens/teens and dogs are also welcome to join us if they're with an adult.

Settle in from 7:30pm and we’ll start the games at 8pm.

From tomorrow, we'll be starting the Quiz at Telford's Warehouse at the slightly earlier time of 20:30.

Questions will usually begin 15mins after that, so don't worry if you're not there for 8:30pm. But I'd still recommend pre-booking a table - by contacting Telford's directly - as it tends to be a very busy evening!

It's nearly time for another Roll & Write!

This Wednesday, 6th September.

First Wednesday of the month at Telford's Warehouse is Roll & Write Games Night, the monthly board game event where every turn, is your turn.

September's game is called On Tour…

“You're living the dream. You're in a band and they’re about to go on tour. It's your job to schedule the band's stops over your 100-day tour, visiting as many venues as possible.”

I'd give this a complexity rating of 1 out of 5, so certainly one of the least complicated games we've played.

Each turn, two ten-sided dice are rolled to make two two-digit numbers. For example, a roll of 3 and 7 creates the numbers 37 and 73. All players write each of those numbers in a state on their map.

At the end of the game, each player draws a route on their map, starting with a low number and visiting adjacent states with higher and higher numbers. Players get a point for every state they visit.

There are 2 maps for On Tour - the USA map and the Europe map, we'll play both maps on the night.

Well behaved tweens/teens and dogs are also welcome to join us if they're with an adult.

Get your rucksack and boots on, we're going for a hike!

Tomorrow is Roll & Write Games Night at Telford's Warehouse, Chester.

We're playing the latest offering from one of our fave game publishers Postmark Games - creators of the excellent Voyages and Aquamarine, both of which we've played over the past year.

"In Waypoints you play as a hiker traversing a landscape of mountains, valleys, lakes and woodlands. Over four days you'll travel from waypoint to waypoint, discovering different landmarks, animals and gear that might help you in your hike. Kayak down the river, glide from the peaks of mountains, and keep your coat ready for when bad weather strikes!"

Well behaved tweens or teens are also welcome to join us if they're with an adult.

Get there for 7:30pm for the teach and if you've got a fave dry-wipe pen, bring it along for this one 🧐
