The Folk Gathering is, quite simply, a grand gathering of friends and friends to be, many of whom are Folk Musicians and Singers, who come together to share music, songs and friendship in an informal atmosphere, and to enjoy performances from some of our favourite national folk celebrities and some of the immensely talented local acts.

It all began with folk getting together in good company to make a difference
PEACE THROUGH FOLK - a not-for-profit trust; is a collective of like-minded people who, in various forms, have gathered together in good company from 1976 to the present day to celebrate through songs and music, Peace, Friendship, Reconciliation, Social Justice, and a better, kinder, more sustainable Planet Earth.
The last three day Folk Gathering September 2024 in Ipstones was a sellout and fitting finale.
To quote from Pete Seeger’s song Quite Early Morning –
‘ - keep on while we live, until we have no more to give, and when these fingers can strum no longer, hand the old banjo to young ones stronger’.
However, there are plans and opportunities for the future - to see our full message please click the pdf icon on the bottom of the front page on our website http://www.peacethroughfolk.com/
