Meet Your Chef Matt Weller
“As an award-winning chef and former Member of the Australian Culinary Team, I embrace a passion for producing quality cuisine at the forefront of innovation. I purposefully design each dish to combine modern techniques with traditional flavours, and to ultimately showcase local produce.
With a career that began at the hatted Cafe China in Cairns, I have worked consistently at enhancing and diversifying my experience and skills. After working in London, I have landed Head Chef positions with some of the Australia’s finest restaurants, including Wildfire Restaurant, Swine & Co and Ananas Bar and Brasserie, have been awarded Australian Chef of the Year in 2011, 2013 and 2016, and most recently represented Australia as a world finalist at the Global Chef Challenge in Greece 2016.
I now aspire to share my experience and passion for producing quality food to household kitchens across Australia. With the assistance of a fine-dining waiter, I aim to ultimately help hosts and families entertain guests from the comfort of their own home, with a unique and ‘out of this world’ culinary experience.
With a fully customised menu and personalised service, at Abstract Events it is our sole purpose to ensure that every detail of your private dinner is taken care of, from the moment you contact us through to the completion of your event, when your kitchen is wiped down and every fork is squeaky clean.
