Was getting some space measurements at Queen City Cinema Club for a few details of the upcoming Sunbury Winter Solstice Fairy Market. And Heavy for a Hearth! Event.

As per usual when I go in I can't resist some food.
It's been the perogies make your own menu for me lately, that lime cream... 🤤... Anyway back to my point!

Today as I looked over the chef specials I saw the updog, I would be skeptical of the blueberry puree and basil pesto combo on a hot dog however I trust Tiffany's culinary tone and lemme tell you what...

Hands down the best dang hotdog I have ever eaten.. and even better it's available in both Beef and vegan so even your plant based pals can chow down!

Stay awesome and absolutely get down to the open Mic night!

A fine group of young metal dudes ready and known as they have been pushing their riffs around Maine and earning their salt and released an album this year.We advise you to come in for the first act of the day on Saturday December 30th.

Whose opening well we asked them and we got the confident roar of :

"We are Morduus!"

Josh, 30, on the drums;
Xavier and Nakoa, 18 & 22, on guitar;
Julian, 20, on the bass;
Lucas, 18, on the mic.

Our biggest influences come from several backgrounds, from deathcore’s Infant Annihilator and Su***de Silence, to the grooviest of Heavy Metal such as Pantera and Lamb of God.

"Our favorite song to play is Kill Your Friends, as it’s been a staple to the Morduus family since the start of the band."

"We’ve been jamming on our instruments at such a young age for years now in Maine, and now as grown adults we’ve found the right people to get groovy and change the metal music industry on its head."

Hey everyone we hope that we find you well in the fallout of the windstorm we just had. We have decided that our event on December 30th would be far better if we got started a bit earlier in the day!

Incase the weather goes bad we can all get the horns out early.

So Heavy for a Hearth will now be doors open at 330 and bands playing at 4 till complete!

If you bought tickets already and won't be able to come to the earlier time they are still refundable. If you haven't bought tickets get on it!

17/12/2023

Tomorrow we will be getting back to posting a bit more about some of the bands we are hosting at Heavy for a Hearth!

Don't forget we will be taking donations at the door and a portion of each ticket sale will go to that cause to be used to help keep the homeless and less fortunate warm!

😂😬😬😬
My wife would agree, because there's several flashbacks and cut scenes, a sometimes faulty narrator, and even a break in the middle for her to go to the bathroom and get a drink. 😂

(And yes, sharing something with habitual "be," even in meme form, does feel kinda weird.)

From Massachusetts driving up North to top off a night of insanity. We can't thank these dudes enough!

Get ready for LOTUS EATER MACHINE!

https://open.spotify.com/track/45t6sgQPijjUw2mFPEb1CZ?si=Zy7ljMwjTjqQiTs3g1ekQA

This band was new to me before booking this show but thanks to a tip from another band I'm glad I've heard them now!

So we asked who is Lotus Eater Machine? Who influences them and what got them into heavy music?

"What brought you each to playing your respective instrument? Or just to music? Any other talents in the band outside of music?
Oddly enough I think pop-punk bands like Blink-182 as well as metal that saw radio play when we grew up like System of a Down were the gateway drug for all us rapidly escalating into heavier and faster music."

The members and some individual big influences for them are:

Pete (Vocals) - Converge
CJ (Guitar) - Convulse
Mark (Bass) - Meshuggah
Andre (Drums) - Slayer

We asked what song they collectively like playing most:

"We definitely can’t agree on that, we all like different ones so I’ll just say any of the new ones since we collectively agreed to never play any of our older songs again."

We where curious what they do down in the South so we asked what else they do with their time.:

"Andre is in a lot of other bands so music is pretty much his entire life but both he and Mark are pretty proficient at skateboarding.
CJ and Pete both like to draw.
CJ also makes his own pedals.
Andre and Pete both like lifting.
Mark and Pete are nasty at Magic: The Gathering."

Get ready Bangor it's gonna be one loud night on Main Street!

December 30th we will have our first music event. Heavy for a Hearth. We decided to ask the bands a bit about themselves... over the next few days we will have more post like this with some of the answers and information we got.

We started with who is your band? Well first up we have "When The Dead Wont Die!"

We asked who and what we should know about them. The short answer was:

“Only the best organic indoor non-gmo local grown vegan-friendly deathcore from the good ol’ green state of Maine.”

We also got a nice bio written by the band explaining their origins:

"Hailing from the lonely woods of Central Maine, WHEN THE DEAD WON'T DIE is spawned of musicians from various bands that have since dissipated with time.

Formed in the winter of 2015, Reformed in 2021 w/ a new lineup, the band has been primarily writing original material, crafting a progressive sound that’s heavy-hitting, technical and melodic."

We also wondered who makes up the band? What their biggest influences where.

Bruce Ibscher (Bass)age 36: To the Grave, Vulvodynia, Distant
James Rafferty (Guitar)age32 : Bonecarver, Cattle Decapitation, Carnifex, Chelsea Grin, Job for A Cowboy
- Cameron Waceken (Vox)age 31: Cradle of Filth, We Butter the Bread with Butter, Touche Amore
Phelan Barry (Drums)Age 33: Infant Annihilator, Rings of Saturn, Archspire, Animals as Leaders, Converge
Ryan Deschaine (Guitar)age 41: Within the Ruins, I Valiance, Between the Buried and Me, Atlantis Chronicles, Hunt the Dinosaur

Something I'm always curious about is what the bands like playing most. We got the first and second and some links to the videos.

Be sure to check them out on Spotify.

1st is 'Martyr' - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=babXUe59nfE or https://open.spotify.com/track/39lmZgts9HPOIClKtmMmnj
