Fierce Productions was founded by Laura Reitsma aka LK Fierce in 2016, after 10 years of working in the Chicago Theater and Event scene as an actress, director, producer and Event Planner. Laura is Cuban American (actualmente aprendiendo Español) from Miami, Florida. After planning her own wedding, several

parties, galas and theatrical productions, Laura decided to start her own event production company. For years, Laura has used the word Fierce as kind of a catch phrase. Fierce is such a FUN word. Try it. Fierce. It's a word of strength and tenacity. Over time, her friend's gave her the nickname: LK Fierce. When it came time to start a business, she couldn't think of a better word to name it after. Who wouldn't want their Event to be Fierce?

Meet our amazing new Senior Event Planner, Kathleen Kinlin!! 🎉

✨ uses they/them pronouns
✨ grew up in a hometown that had a designated day off from school to attend the county fair
✨ recently got matching tattoos with their mom
✨ is a horror movie nerd
✨ originally moved to Chicago for the comedy scene but mostly performs music and poetry now
✨ moved to event coordination after seeing how much producing charity shows filled their cup
✨ has two cats named Pokey and Scruggs
✨ once received the superlative “Most Likely to Smell Like Flowers”

Not to be dramatic…

…but we love how this fundraiser gala turned out. The up-lights added so much color and dimension to the event, and the balloon structures added fun texture to the space.

Goes to show you can elevate your event with “simple” tools such as lights, balloons, drapery, and brick walls.

✨ That's a WRAP on our Fierce 2024. ✨

2024 was a long, stressful year...but it was also one of the most exciting with some of our biggest events! It was also the most profitable year even with Owner Laura fighting breast cancer, and being a recent mother. 💕

We thank all the amazing couples, clients, and vendors for the incredible year and opportunities. We are very grateful for the amazing Fierce Team that keeps us going.

Looking forward to the exciting events we already have lined up in 2025!

A perk of having a wedding planner is you have someone looking out for you the entire day. We have a Fierce Team Member with you from getting ready through end of night.

We assist with set up, wedding party line up, curtain holding, and guest wrangling (and that's truly only a few of the many tasks we perform on the day). We especially make sure we check in with YOU—if you need anything, if you’re feeling alright, and we make sure you’re ready to start the “activities” like the dances, speeches, and dance party.

Making sure you are experiencing your wedding day is our MAIN priority. ✨

We had so much fun with these tablescapes. ✨💙🌺

This couple was not afraid to be bold with their color palette, nor afraid to add some sparkle and neon. The deep blues allowed the gorgeous pinks to pop. Everything was subtly supported by the golds of the cutlery and decorative geometric shapes. The head table had sequin linens, and we reused the ceremony arch as a perfect backdrop for the reception, (just now with a little neon personality).

It was truly a gorgeous blend of the couple’s personalities.

We absolutely loved these tablescapes ❤️

This couple wanted to showcase the Chinese culture through their design, but also wanted to limit their use of florals. We creatively came up with the idea to use origami lotus flowers, floating candles, and 3D printed zodiac animals to decorate the table. It transformed into a gorgeous dining oasis. 🪷

Some tablescape decor from a recent wedding we planned. 💙🌾

Oksana and Zarek had their wedding at the gorgeous Rookery building in Chicago. They wanted a tasteful pop of color that wouldn't compete with the golden colors of the space.

The colors chosen were gold, lapis and powder blue, pops of vermillion, and ivory. Not only were wheat, blue iris, and dried pampas used to keep things organic, but they were also used as a nod to Ukranian folk style.
