Biography
DJ DOOBIE a.k.a. DJ MAGIC HANDZ is Belgrade's Top Rated HIP HOP SCRATCH DJ! He's famous for his amazingly fast scratching performance, crazy beat juggling and body tricks. He was born and raised in the beautiful city of Belgrade, Serbia. Shortly after gettin' enrolled into the grade 1 elementary schol he began listening and feeling hip hop and rap music. He grew up listening to major ol' skool buttaz like Run D.M.C, LL KOOL J, BRAND NUBIAN, PUBLIC ENEMY, BLACK MOON, GRAND MASTER FLASH, GHETTO BOYZ, SCARFACE, WU TANG CLAN, and many many more dope ol' skool hip hop artists. At the age of 13 he entered the DJ game. He started DJ-ing at the local house parties and school dances. Just shortly after that he got a job at the CLUB 54 in Belgrade, spinnin' Disco, Funk, Hip Hop & Club music where he was introduced to the real Technics 1200 MK2's turntables for the first time. As a kid he used to spin and scratch his grandparents old records on the old gramophone. After being so amazed with the shape and the sound of the vinyl records he became more and more interested about the whole dj thing. WHen he graduated from grade 8 junior high school he made a decisioun to move to Calgary, Alberta, Canada to live with his Father. SHortly after getting there he started buying his first records..Not long after that he got his first set of Tech 12's and a dope Technics 1200 DMC CHAMPIONSHIP mixer. He then began developing some serious skills on the 1's and 2's. Few years later he started doing local hip hop shows with local hip hop artist and DJ's. He scratched on many artists albums and produced a lot of beats for his friends albums. He wanted to go and compete in the DMC one year but he just decided to stay underground and not go for FAME because he had nothing to prove. He played and scratched alongside with DJ CRAZE, DJ KLEVER, DJ SPINNACILYN, SMALLTOWN DJ's, MAT THE ALIEN, DJ FAT PAT, DJ SAHARA ROCK, all from Canada and US, and in Serbia he played alongside with DJ MUNJA, DJ IRON, DJ COLDIE, CODEX DJ's, DJ SU***DE, DJ KOBAZZ, PITCHWIZE DJ's etc. He also featured as a guest scrath DJ on many local RAP/HIP HOP artists albums such as: JUICE & the 93 FU KRU, SICK TOUCH, MC SEVEN, MACK DAMES, M.A.X., BVANA IZ LAGUNE, THC LA FAMILIJA, BAUK SQUAD, USIKANA DRUZINA, etc. He also played at the Converse stage @ EXIT FESTIVAL 2009 with the band called M.A.X...He played at the most urban and most visited Belgrade CLubs since 2004 and still holds the weekly residency at the few of them. He now lives in Belgrade, Serbia but plans to go back to Canada soon...
