Over the past month I conducted a funeral for a friend and a wedding. Both events celebrated milestones and turning points for family and friends. Erik’s funeral honoured a life lived with creativity, performance, teaching, respect, integrity and joy. He lay in a beautiful wicker casket and former students, teaching colleagues and university friends spoke about him with humour, insight and admiration. The wedding was at the Melbourne Museum, an amazing venue I would not hesitate to recommend. People had flown in from all over the place and and we had wall to wall smiles throughout. It was a huge privilege to be entrusted to guide these significant occasions.
