Join Palestinian lecturer Dr Nidal Khalaf from University of Limerick for a talk on the history of the Palestinian struggle. Dr. Khalaf will debunk Zionist propaganda and provide a historical context to the current events from an uncensored Palestinian perspective.

The latest episode of the Zionist genocide against Palestinians in Gaza has unleashed a sea of atrocities, colonial violence, and above all, a quest for seeking the truth within storms of misinformation and guided propaganda.

Like all propaganda, Israeli hasbara is effective not only when it convinces but when it creates sufficient confusion to silence those who would otherwise speak out.

The ultimate objective of propaganda is not so much to change what people think as to stop them from thinking.

What is the story of Palestine? Who are the Palestinians? And where does the line between reality, myth and colonialism stand in the realm of a genocidal war?

All of these questions, and much more, will be addressed in this lecture.

Dr. Ailis Brosnan is a vegan wellness expert who has over 30 years experience helping people create healthier lifestyles so they feel confident, energised and engage more fully in life. Vegan for 25 years Ailis is a passionate advocate of plant based nutrient dense diets. She has a first class honours degree in ‘Exercise Science’ from DeMontfort University in the UK and a Master’s degree in ‘Health Promotion and Wellness Management’ which included nutrition. Her third degree is a Professional Doctorate degree in Health Sciences (Psychology). Ailis has many other certifications including Plant-based Nutrition, Yoga teacher, Living Foods Instructor, Lifestyle and Weight Management along with certifications in a range of holistic therapies.In her spare time she loves being active in the outdoors and setting challenges for herself. She has completed an Ironman Triathlon (3.8km swim, 180km bike and a marathon), an ultramarathon, swum twice around Garnish Island and this year she is planning on completing a cycle from Malin Head to Mizen Head (the length of Ireland).

Reducing commitments, making use of anxiety meds when I needed them most, being open about the struggle with my mindset, getting through my in person event and all the little habits implemented has got me to the other side of wellbeing.

Then to step fully back into joy, it seems what I needed was a few days having fun and rest with my girlfriends, feeling supported and fully accepted for who I am and where I'm at.

We've all felt the disconnect from our loved ones for far too long. Now many of us are starting to reconnect and it is fabulous. My heart feels full again.

With just over a week left to put my full self into completing my postgrad and my mission to maintain my full heart and inspo after my trip I am going to take a lil social media break.

Thank you for supporting our Heartstone fundraising mission and for all the connection here, thank you for nourishing me!!

Sending you so much love. My heart like many of yours is with the people and animals of Ukraine right now and Palestine and the other beings affected globally. Stay connected with each other, love and protect everyone that passes through our life in any way we can.

I remain with hope.
